This guy provided the soundtrack to my high school years. Hearing these songs always takes me back to that time, he's a major part of my life to this day, and I listen to 'The Flat Earth' almost daily.
You are awesome! Your video of "Blinded Me w/Science" , which i saw from shipped over Betamax tapes from the USA probably helped influence my career as a music video director in the Philippines. I've yet to come across great local music enough to inspire me to make a great "Science" type or Hyperactive music video... Who knows we'll work together in the future... Thanks... Great music! AWESOME!!!
This guy is one of the few living greats of our time. Just watch Dolby navigate between keys and playing a live show performance arguably better than that of the studio recording. Thank you Thomas for being such a huge inspiration to me!
His headgear is a) pair of glasses, b) set of miniature headphones for feedback, c) microphone for mouth (mounted on right), d) video camera (mounted on left), e) I believe the last dangly is a sort of mic/voder.
It's great to see artists from the 80s still active. It was a period of great creativity, generally only remembered for the naffest excesses rather than the gems.
I've always blamed Thomas Dolby, along with Carl Sagan and Patrick Moore for leaving me with a life long interest in technology and science ever since I became aware of his tinkering, love the music too!
Dolby is a genius. With technology having come such a long way in 20 years, I hope the current young generation catch on to this stuff and how far ahead of it's time Dolby's music was. Dolby's a great entertainer too. I'm gutted I missed his gig in Dublin recenmtly.
Anyone remember the rumor of Thomas Dolby being arrested for espionage when he flew his plane into some unfriendly country? After his huge popularity in the 80's TD all but disappeared.
The DVD is so much better quality than the clips, so if you liked the Podcast you should definitely get it. I wasnt keen because I'd seen all the podcasts, but you get so much more for your money. Such a great great dvd. Thanks, big Tam.

@keysrme1 Among the head gear is a pair of vintage headphones from the early days of regenerative and crystal radios. They look to be from the 20s.

His voice sounds similar to Roger Waters from Pink Floyd. I don't know, maybe I'm just crazy lol.
