@nippononna Yes, the tsunami hit Oregon and California. There was a fatality in California: several men who were curious and got too close and got swept away in it. One of them died. Even though the tsunami cost several millions in damage, it was much much milder than Japan experienced. The floor of the ocean around Crescent City, California, amplifies tsunamis, and it has been heavily damaged in the past as well.
