Why should we consider our albinism to be a disiability? Why isn't it regarded plain and simply as an attribute? Why should we consider it--as you said--as a karmic conserquence?
I am albino, I am very proud of who I am and believe it has made me what I am. I agree people can be so closed minded but mainly it is a lack of education.
Although i agree with many of your points, i disagree that being 'albino' is a disability. I can see how the eye sight complications may cause you to see it that way but i disagree! I have no facts to back it up-just my personal opinion. Also, i hate when narrow-minded people toss around the word 'albino' as if it is an insult. I'm frequently called "albino", but i'm not actually. Now when i'm confronted with that i just say, "yeah! Too bad your not!" hehe :)
I go to church every Sunday, and the priest has never said anything about how Albinos are Satanic or about how gays are sinners. My church is pretty good for accepting. I think that how other religions and churches ostricise (bad spelling) people is ridiculous. The church is actually more sinful in my eyes than non-religious people, (sorry for generalizing) because they are constantly telling people that they are sinners, while they sin by being cruel to those not EXACTLY like them.
if not, please answer and correct me because I never heard that term before.
Also lol (not at you) @ your "my disability is awsome" speech. I guess it is weird that people see beauty in a disability. I'm guilty of it, but yea your right...how many people are going around saying down syndrom is sexy.
im an albino and im musliam!! My family says that im a gift...but other people say its a punishment...which is totally wrong... I've moved high schools 3 times because of bulling of my Albinism..... people think that i am not normal by the way i look but i am perfectly normal....there may be some problems with me but thats just the way it is...idk why other people think such bad things about us!!! its who we are and thats how god wanted us on this earth!!
:( I'm sorry for saying that your albinism is awesome in your other videos.
I've mentioned that because.. like a lot of people .. I think that being unique is beautiful. Albinism is rare, which makes its more unique. It makes someone with albinism look more "1 in a million" Which is a GOOD thing in my eyes. But I'm only now seeing that it can be a disability, people don't realize albinism is the cause of your eye problems. they think its only aesthetic. So did I.
I want to punch them in the face too. I didn't know people were that ignorant about albinism especially nowadays. I never would have imagined people would act like that.
People saying they think you look cool probably don't realize that it's a disability and just think of it as something that makes you look different. I'm sure they're really just trying to complement you and if they knew it upset you they'd never say it.
Hi, I just watched your vid respnse on religeon and blaming 'karma' etc for what's happened. I am from the Hindu religeon and constantly get this - being brought up in India, the amount of times people have asked my mother (why do mothers get it more than fathers?) 'what did you do wrong?' is unbelievable. Now I get the old 'you must have done something terrible in your past life...' response to them finding out I am visually impaired. So I love ure vid, very inspiring.
If people say you look cool that is far better than the polar opposite. Many people say that but may not realize the negative aspects of it. If someone says that then it is a golden opportunity to tell them of the down falls of looking so cool. You have a disability but it is also an ability to see other peoples disabilities and that is ingnorance, stupidity, judging, and cruelness. I would rather be disabled than have the disability of society. I have disability and so does my wife.
Hails Rebecca! It is indeed really pity how people can be afraid and violent about differences, how couldn't they think beyond their dogmas, xenophobia and prejudges? Whether toward me, or towards other people with a different physical look, it disgracefully make me feel scorn toward them.
I guessed you're used to disrespectful stares of others, but I imagine it could still be hurtful sometimes, how do you cope with that and when people hurt you verbally by asking stupid questions?
you know what dont give a shit about what people say i think albino people look really cool so just stay true to your self.I hope you know that all they are saying about you isn't true there jeliouse but im sorry if your offended about but honestly its cool
@emeraldsintherain2 Thanks. I try to ignore any offensive comments. I'm glad that you think that it is cool, but there are also negative impacts that come from having pale skin and pale eyes. As summer approaches, I am reminded of how much I dislike the sun...
@fleurdelacour5787 I"m glad that you liked it. I thought that your video was so amazing and said so many important things that it didn't warrant just a comment. (Plus, I'm better at speaking than writing...) Yeah, I can't think of any other genetic condition that would garner the same reaction.
I'm glad that you got my virtual hug! I'll give you one any time!

Hey, I'm an Atheist, therefore I don't have a religion because I don't believe there is such thing as a God.
Being Albino is when the genetics within your body linked to your parents meet and create a unique characteristic that is uncommon and rare.
You are special like all of us because we are all unique and rare as individauls

I may seem weird to everyone else but I think Albino women are beautiful. I would love to spend my life with a lady that is an Albino. Delicious!

Woot for the allies!
I loved the rant on albinism being "awesome". It gave me a giggle. It's so true! Would they do that to someone with CP or something? No.
And virtual hug received. Thanks!
