Magic flame

OK!

This video has now been on the web for over 3 years. You have all told me i should make a tutorial, and dammit, its time!

No idea just when i'll get around to actually doing it, but i expect it ready within a couple of weeks. The tutorial will consist of the magic flame effect, how to layer a particle effect to make it look natural, and a basic crash-course in the program "Effectslab Pro" which im using for this. Hopefully it will be informative, and slightly entertaining :3

Is that made in a classroom? It's pretty bad to get caught with a flame in your hand in a classroom. The teacher might get the wrong idea.

@vodorf Thank you for your concern. I trained marcus a long time, honing his firebending skills to the max. The classroom worked fine off-hours until he learned how to increase the flame-size. Needless to say, we had a very embarrassing meeting with the fire department. What we learnt from this was: Location location location ;)

omg please dont use lens flare for that type of stuff.

lens flare is a light reflection in lens - to cause that reflecition u would have to use a very strong source of light directed towards camera, small flame does not cause such a refections - IT LOOK UNNATURAL! physics.

im just going to say this oooone more time. it is NOT SUPPOSED to look like a real flame. its a MAGIC flame. The ignition point of a magic flame shines considerably brighter then the ignition point of regular flames due to the high intensity of pure magical energy that is burned off. consider the base of the flame as a little sun, similiar to a fusion reaction just with magic energy.

and please study up on the subject before making an idiot out of yourself the next time. im the magic expert ;)

hmmm......I think that it could have looked better. Like, for instance, making the fire burst bigger in the begginning and then letting it gently get to a certain width, like a real flame. But it looked cool still XD

the flame is a result of a few minutes of work in a program called Effectslab Lite. sorry for the long wait :)

Hello everyone, sorry i havent answerred any of you, i never would have imagined the vid actually drawing a crowd :P the file format is AVI but can be compiled into several others. The program used is called Effectslab made by FxHome. I have the full version but this is also possible to do in the Lite version.
