  • good job man. that looks really nice. i hope to do something like this to mine one day. im jus getting into crawlin. i got a 91 ex cab with the 3.0. i cant wait to play with it

  • dude your truck is clean,i love toyota pickups

  • clicked on this expecting to see an awesome truck.....got an awesome soundtrack along with it, nice man! toyota and explosions in the sky@!

  • i think you meant to say 3 link coil spring setup instead of coil over setup :) Maybe thats next! heheh

  • @AdrenalineObsession damnit. haha. and nah, i'm good with how it is now. much cheaper and easier to work on.

  • Hey, some more questions i have about your swap? when you did a 3 link front; was that from trail gear or someone else? Because i finally got my self a rig and want to do an S.A.S. swap on it but don't want to sacrifice the ride yet, I'm not going full bore on an off-roader either. And also is the three link up front street friendly?

  • @TheJake538 no, the 3 link is fully custom. much better quality build and fit that way. and yes, it's very street friendly. rides smoother and softer than IFS, flexes like a boss. there is more sway, but you get used to it. it's not a race truck, it never was...if you drive marginally less retarded than most, you won't have any problems.

  • nicely done!

  • Glad to hear it man, makes me want to do it. I miss having a nice rig lol. She's getting tired quick between cracking the frame and just about tearing the steering box off the other day, I need every bushing for the springs and every rod end. Shit happens when you wheel hard 3 times a week and still daily drive it. I'm hoping links will take the abuse better. You put together a nice rig and awesome vids keep it up dude.

  • @TheDeathCrawler the links definitely take a shit ton of abuse, and no real bushings to wear out either with the Heim Joints either. I got a sweet wheeling video i'm putting together of the rig. If ou do the link setuip, maybe get ya a daily driver / be-bopper while you're at it :) i drive a camry to work now lol

  • Truck is coming along sick man. I bet your loving the swap, shes flexing nice. How's it on the road? I'm thinking this spring I'm gonna ditch the tg leafs and link my truck and cage it. Anyways fucking nice build man keep it up, I'm slacking on the upload shit but I'll get some more of my truck up.

  • @TheDeathCrawler thanks bud, means alot coming from an experienced toyota wheeler. Coils and links perform better than I could imagine. It's taken some tweaking, but overall it drives great. Does well at 90 mph even without sway bars; flexes like crazy, super soft ride. other than a little death wobble that was solved with a few tweaks, it's been great.

  • i gotta tell you this is one of my favorite yotas next to my own, do you ever plan to do a 231,4.3 or small block swap?

  • @BLACKLACDTS every now and a again i think about doing one, but i want to keep it 22re. i always contemplate building a stroker / high compression setup or maybe utilize forced induction, but it's not a go-fast truck...it's a go-anywhere-and-come-back-asking-for-more truck, and i need it to stay reliable. I'm about to rebuild the bottom end with japanese sourced OEM-or-better products as we speak.

  • @dixiemudtoy i understand. i have the same exact truck year and all but more stock. the only mods to mine are a LC engineering stage 2 22re crate engine, long tube header, high flow cat(gone very soon) and 2 1/2" exhaust. its no ls1 but its est@ 170hp.mild trails and deep snow is our wheeling so i am goin to keep the ifs but i am goin to lock both axles and add the 2" toytec ball joint spacers and add a leafs and run 33s. bumpers and rock sliders like yours and i am done.....FOR NOW! LOL

  • nice yota, ive got a 86 pickup needs some work and she'll go forever

  • badass truck! is it for sale

  • @8nyne thanks...and never. :)

  • @dixiemudtoy dont blame you man, i have an 89 4runner id never sell aswell

  • I take my last comment back, nice upgrade/s'

  • @drum4life42 haha yeah, its all good. it's still only lifted maybe 3 or 4 inches higher than factory. keeping the CG low intentionally.

  • @dixiemudtoy To tell you the truth I like the look of these trucks much better without an overkill lift. Im looking into a late 80's early 90's 4x4 pickup for March. :)

  • @drum4life42 yeah, if i ever get into some serious money i might get another and keep it box stock for a daily driver to be-bop around town in. for now the next investment is my brother's 98 camry to save gas driving 35 minutes one way to work :)

  • Were did u get the coils?

  • @curtismundy factory jeep coils....shh don't tell anyone!! :-X

  • @dixiemudtoy how much $ have you put into this truck. I mean all together like EVERYTHING buying the truck, parts, etc. etc. just curious

  • I used Trail Gears Three link kit which said you cant use high steer but i am. It has crazy nasty flex. I have never been to Union Grove but some of my friends have. If you let me know in advance I can get them to come too. E-Mail me a yotabays@gmail.com and I can send you my flex pics.

  • Your YOTAs so clean dude. I three linked my 86 last year. Running 37s and its my DD. Let me know the next time you go to Union Grove. Great job on the videos!!!

  • @KawaBays330 preciate it buddy...what equipment did you use to set yours up? what kind of flex are you seeing with it? you should do a video of it....message me you contact info and we can hit up the grove sometime

  • What coil springs did you use?

  • @chato199 jeep coils...i think they were 11" or 13", not sure off the top of my head. they were factory jeepies tho

  • so how much lift do you have overall? and how much travle/flex?

  • @91trxryder Lift is about 3-4" total, travel per corner is about 30" full compression to full droop.

  • what axle did u use? looks like a dana 35? maybe or 44, either way sick i got a 98 s10 zr2 wanna do a solid swap sooooo bad. can find axles for 100 bucks just no money now lol sweet rig man

  • @iTzXAlexXx nope...toyota 8". thanks bro!

  • @dixiemudtoy yea no problem i think them old Yotas are sick with the solid axle. how much did that axle run you?

  • @iTzXAlexXx Mine was uncommonly cheap, as I got it from a friend...front and rear as a pair for $50. rebuild kit with 4.56 gears for about $200, and a little sand blasting and spray paint...brand new axle for around $300.

  • @dixiemudtoy wow great deal again your truck looks awesome. im guessing with the 4cyl ur still gettin over 20 mpgs? re-gearing helps a lot

  • @dixiemudtoy; would you know anything about custom sway bars for SAS conversions on the The Toyota's?

  • @TheJake538 i was going to get one fabricated out of one of my old torsion bars (apparently this is pretty common on SAS's), but after the new shocks went on, it's really not that bad...still corners pretty well, all things considered.

  • @dixiemudtoy ; so do you think an S.A.S. with 33's could get away with driving on the city and the highway without to much worry about the handling characteristics?

  • So, you take an already sick ass truck.....do some cutting and welding....and make it into a super sick ass truck. Damn. I got the same model toyota, ive been working on it about a year and a half now and am currently saving for an axel swap. THIS IS SOME MOTIVATION FROM HELL.

  • dude that is freaking sick!!! im looking into doing this on my 94. around how much did this cost you? thanks for sharing bro

  • @camochicken15 Thanks bud; my project was very custom, and Sixditch bases their prices off of how wild or mild you want to get. Mine was around $3000. Very well worth it.

  • She looks better every time

  • Nice build - looks really good

  • @98SAS4runner thanks buddy...man you got a really sweet runner...how do you like the leaf spring setup? how's the street ride? i think we should have a flex-off.... :D

  • @dixiemudtoy Thanks, the leafs work well for me, I can still corner pretty fast and don't have much body roll. Not as nice as coil overs but they were in my budget. The last time I measured I was around 37'' in the front with all three wheels on the ground. The more I drive it the more it softens up and flexes. I have trail gear 3'' Toyota springs in the front and Chevy springs in the rear.

  • @98SAS4runner very nice...not sure what mine will do, but it'll go from full tuck to full extension at each corner with the 12" bilsteins. Good call on the chevys...did you do anything to get more lift out of them? mine are an inch or 2 too short for me...

  • @dixiemudtoy to try and add a little more flex I made 6 1/4 shackles and when I welded the perches on a gave the shackles a sharper then normal angle which gives me another inch or two in drop. I haven't measured how much I can lift them but I drove up on my friend's 35'' swampers and it looked like I could go quite a bit further. I am guessing somewhere around 40''.

  • gotta love the strait axles! i have a 84 xtra cab with a sraight axle. i was just wondering where did you get those clear corner lights they look really good. i never noticed them in your other videos.

  • @naecte ebay :) just search toyota clear corner markers

  • @dixiemudtoy thanks man

  • truck looks great man,,its been nice seeing it come along..

  • @2013craig thank you sir, how's old blue treatin ya? anything new?

  • @dixiemudtoy its doing great..nothing much just replaced some old parts.put some blue fog lights on the front bumper.other than that just driving it every day..but i have been working on a 87 yota like ours in my auto body shop..its a dime man they did a frame off resto..i love the look that your truck is going for,,,,what next?

  • your truck looks so similar!

  • Simply put as Amazing my friend. My dream truck haha :) well done!!!!!!

  • @camaross92 much appreicated!!

  • @dixiemudtoy hey bud quick question.. what tires are those ? i kno bf goodwrench but what style/sixe thnx

  • @camaross92 33x10.50x15 km2s

  • Best Lookn Extended cab in that body style I've seen. Nice Job man the truck looks Awesome

  • I never thought this video would ever come out, I couldn't wait to see this thing! I wish i had the money for this kind of stuff you do! Man, your yota looks amazing! don't ever let go of this thing!

  • @cheezycake75 no worries my friend, it's not going anywhere if i've got anything to say about it.

  • I like how low you kept it .. nice

  • I thought you hadn't been doing much fab work to the truck since there wasn't any new videos in a while... boy was I wrong!
