Dear God... Please banish all the blues riffs from YouTube. Unless the player can ACTUALLY play their own blues and not just the tried and true riffs passed down through generations, they should work on their OWN playing and not just thrive on the idea, "If I can play (enter blues / metal / rock song from mid 1960's thru early 1980's) then people will look past my mediocre, somewhat sloppy playing and think I'm awesome!"

However, Gibson SG Special sounds fantastic!

the neck is a little thick if youre used to fender especially. i was just at guitar center trying one out on a line 6 spider 3. it is so sweet. the bridge has a real crisp sound:)

the main difference in the standard and the special is the bridge pickup...the standard and special both have the same neck pickup...but the bridge is different in the standard...in the standard it is a 498t

The Gibson SG Standard, I'm assuming? "Better" is an entirely subjective word. The Standard costs a bit more than the Special (about $200), has covered PAF pickups, comes with trapezoid inlays, brighter finish (especially in comparison of the red SG Standard vs the red SG Special), as well as a bound fretboard. In my opinion, SG Standards do play a bit better, but that's entirely me. Try both, and see how they feel for you.

this summer i would like to buy my first gibson guitar, from the les paul i only like the standard but they´re to expensive so i let fell my eyes on this guitar because it´s lighter,looks very cool and is cheaper . after a bit research i know that only the paint (between the worn and the regular)

250 euros kost, is that true or is the sound very other between the special and the special worn.

i have a special and i've always been curious about that. i would guess that the special is a bit brighter because the pickups are open without covers...i cant speak to the pickups themselves but i think the standard has burstbuckers while the special has 490r and 490t pickups. the only real advice i can give is to try to play both of them on the same amp and settings, just see which one u like better.

i think you're right. the "t" pickups have a ceramic magnet for more power...where burstbuckers i think use alnico magnets for less string pull which equals better "tone" if you will, and more sustain

i actually just purchased a 1997 black gibson sg special off of ebay just like the one in this video. I couldn't afford the standard which is one of my favorite guitars. I plan on maybe putting pick up covers on it so it's more like the standard. You can buy pick up covers right?
