  • thank you for great analogic sound!

no digital audio can beat that...

also thumbs up if you have to watch that record spin!

  • Great!! Thank you soooo much for uploading this!!! =)

  • @Gothicweiblein You're very welcome! Thanks for tuning in to my channel. :-)

  • this song is absaloutely fabulous pure uplifting music

  • @zxxtc Thanks! I'm glad you like it.

  • Is that crowd fake?

  • @MREL1M1NATOR Well the crowd itself is not fake, but when Sun put this out again in 1969, they used the original studio recording and added the crowd noise in to "try" to have a live sound. It's quite apparent that it's not a real live recording, but a fun novelty just the same. :-)

I just added the original version and will be adding more of his original Sun singles over the next week.

  • Thanks so much! best version in my opinion

  • Ugh, let people listen to what they want. The 89:1 like:dislike ratio here speaks for itself. Johnny Cash's fanbase is among the most devoted of all time, I don't see why he needs a huge one that fleets from act to act like those of contemporary pop (and indeed, a lot of pop in general) do. There's no need for you to dis other artists/genres on a video wholly unrelated to them. Especially such a cheery one. U mad? Don't be. Get rhythm.

PS: No one cares how old you are.

  • Original or not this always puts me in good spirits and good recordings are difficult to find, thanks for posting :) and there's no such thing as good and bad taste in music, only personal taste and that ain't up for question superelmo19 :)

  • @ClaresStuff Thank you!!! :-)

  • respect

  • Thank you for uploading! I ain't got the blues anymore! :D

  • Great record! Thnx for adding on youtube!

  • You say Taylor Swift, I say Buddy Holly

You say Lady Gaga, I say Ritchie Valens

You say Justin Bieber, I say Jerry Lee Lewis

You say Hannah Montana, I say The Rolling Stones

95% of teens listen to the same crappy pop songs. Thumbs this up if your the other 5%. Spread this message! Don't leave Valens and other rockers to be left un-remembered!

  • im 14 years old and i love this TUNE!

  • @merezfinestz08 im 13 and i totally agree with u man

  • My favourite Johnny Cash song by far!

  • awesome nice original!!!

  • ......something wrong here. The audience has been added. It is not on the original Sun recording.

  • life was so good in that time music was different movies ,now all i see wars blood crazy ppl ;(

  • Amazing! this is fantastic i love the 45's !!

  • What excellent quality :o!

  • nice!!

  • Very awesome song and idea!

  • can i have your record?...... just one... please

  • Is that an original pressing ? if so - noice :) Great concept for a way to get it on YouTube too. Might want to pick up a tripod for the camera though, so your arm doesn't get tired :)

  • @BadlyBentPub Yes, it's an original pressing andI did recently get a tripod. Thanks for tuning in! :-)

  • @Ne14Gr8Music

Hate to disappoint you, but that a re-print...probably 1970.

  • @spencerrich I'm not disappointed at all. This is an original pressing from 1969. You should probably read the more info section first

  • @Ne14Gr8Music Sorry--I didn't read--there's obviously applause overdubbed. A lot of people get these later Sun singles and think they're sitting on a goldmine. They do sound nice, though.

  • @spencerrich Hi, I wanted to let you know that I have the first, original version of Get Rhythm posted along with several other early JC Sun singles from the 1950's. :-)

  • @Ne14Gr8Music you are right this is original i have this one also it is from 1969 .

  • @bobluman4 Thank you!!!

  • your playing a record right?? Why doesn't it sound skippy? I didn't hear one skip...

  • @thejakeludwig Yes, this is a record. I recorded it directly into my computer. It does not have any skips because this is a nice, clean copy. I do have a some records that are beat up and will occasionally skip, but I wouldn't want to post them. Thanks for tuning in.

  • @thejakeludwig vinyl is a old school version of a cd. i think the sound of a song played on vinyl is better then cd.

  • Awesome singer and song... :) RIP Johnny Cash.

  • Actually I had heard that the person that Sam Phillips sold Sun Records too in 1969 thought that the Johnny Cash LP were from the show, so they decided that they better dub it with applause. This is not the original recording.

  • never heard the applause version - btw, I tried to compare two loudspeakers sounds using a mic and playing Get Rhythm but when it was uploaded got WMG violation and deletion of audio. Is there a way around it? (like dummy I gave credit and told folks to buy the 3 disc 1955-1958 set as I did)

  • That is cool, and ahead of it's time using a dub of live audience into the studio version, that technique was not widely used until later 60's when multi-track recording really began to take hold in major studios allowing for those kinds of dubbing effects.

  • Wonderful Johnny Cash classic ! Thank you for posting. Enjoyed it :)

  • Thank you, I'm glad you like this one.

  • classic , but like only original applause, not overdubbed , thats too much applause and bad for the sound. Greetings, Tommy.

  • Yeah, it definitely doesn't sound "live". But that was 1959, and I guess they thought it would be a good idea to overdub a studio recording instead of an actual live recording.

  • @MrSteamhammer100 I agree with you, but your posts sound horrible, in spite of the very expensive looking turntable you use, I can't understand it, unless it's the microphone that's to blame.. not trying to put you down in any way, u post some great records, but sometimes they are hard to hear!

  • This is actually very rockabilly as opposed to being more of a country. Thanks!

  • Absolutely Craig. Cash had a lot of good rockabilly tunes.

  • @Ne14Gr8Music yeah definately, one in particular that gets my toe tappin is "Lonesome me". Now thats some genuine bonafide rockabilly! I know this sounds so cliche' but I grew up influenced by some truelly great artists and I have my father to thank. Im so lucky to have such a cool Daddy"O". God bless you dad.

  • One of my all time favorites.

I can really get down to this one.

    thanx buddy!

  • Thanks Joe, it's definitely one of my favs too.

  • I like the song, and the dubbed-in crowd noise makes it kind of interesting!

  • Yes, it's another one of my favorite songs by him, and interesting is a good word for that crowd noise. ha ha ha

  • yeah the mixed in crowd is funny! They just spontanously clap at weird times! Great song though.....

  • That's what made me laugh Miles. The random way the crowd noise is inserted into the song is definitely unique behind an obvious studio track.

  • Excellent!!

  • Thank you Tink!
