@WingersHampsteadHome I won't argue wth you. She's been living in Germany for 19 years and has consumed copious amounts of good German booze in that time. Affects the memory. And was probably pissed that night in Dublin anyway! I personally wouldn't forget any year I got to see The Smiths live, no matter how many Bulmers I'd consumed!

Thanks for tolerating my pedantry :) I only realised after I posted my comment earlier that The Smiths also played Dublin in '83 and '87 (the latter a live performance in front of a crowd on a TV show called - with typical 80's glossiness - 'Megamix'. A guy I know now lives in the converted flats in the exact spot where the studio was!
I just found out my boss saw the Smiths live in Dublin in 1985. Lucky lucky bitch.....
