@swudeft Tower 3 is in a busy part of DC. Powercall+ Fed Q is the best way to clear the traffic. Especially with a rig that size.

You'd think they'd start using more.. Uhm.. European-looking trucks in the major cities. I'm sure the US ones are great as well but it seems almost impossible getting anything that huge through city traffic. It's like driving a 747 around town or something. :P

@gnawershreth well, i lived in a big city and voluteered at a firee company like dc and i asked them if they would ever go to european like truck they all said no.... i then sent a letter to DCFD asking if they would they all said NO.... so i wouldnt get your hopes up:P

das ist ne ganz normale sirene zum drehen, so wie die luftschutzsirenen auf dem dach, mit der heutzutage noch einige ff's alarmiert werden nur halt in kleiner... wenn du genau hinschaust sieht man die kleine trommel vorne rechts unter dem scheinwerfer

@itscrowley22 Reasoning behind that is when the truck is in park the lightbar has a different flash patter and when the truck is put into drive it has a fast and busier pattern. Also when truck goes into drive the clear/white leds come on as well as the green wig wags. The reasoning for that is because insurance companies say that they have to do because if bystanders are at the scene of something that the white/clear lights can blind them. But All of whelens leds have the strength.

@alovebaby41 The pattern doesn't change, the white LEDs just come on when in drive. No white in the front when parked is an NFPA requirement, not insurance.

@HellFire6006 At least you can see it from the front (in the mirrors). Older Sutphen towers have a narrower bucket, easy to hit things. I think there's a FDNY video of a tower making a turn and hitting a car. I've ridden with Tower 3 - seems like a great truck.
