  • Hollow shaft, not 1 shaft. One motor spins shaft one direction, one spins the face/shaft the other.

    BTW it's P-Factor not NOT torque =)

  • Hey, I'm trying to design a contra-rotating propeller based rc plane. But I'm a little confused at how the propellers are able to rotate in different directions using the same shaft using one motor. Is it some sort of gear that's placed along the propeller shaft that allows the propellers to spin in opposite directions?

  • counter rotating props are more fuel efficient then single props right?

  • @MrJp990 no they only eliminate torque roll, thats all they do

  • @RCvehicleGuy no there more efficient as well

  • Yes your right of course. I was unable to edit the title after I posted it. Sorry for the confusion. The Britts P-38 however did not have counter rotate though! =)

  • contra not counter counter is like a beechcraft baron or p 38
