Oh man. I have the same trap as you that I used in the Susquehanna River to catch crayfish. I stopped using it though because a mapping turtle with a shell of 8" by 10" (give or take) got trapped in it and almost drowned to death. Fortunately I got him out in time but I'm never using that trap again.
