ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!! Please do some wedding ones too ;-) You are so talented... I'm getting married next year and need inspiration for cupcakes, don't have to be typical "weddingthemed". Greetings from Denmark.
@milliedk5 Thanks! I have done a wedding theme cupcake video - check my channel. Unfortunately I am not making any cakes/videos at the moment as I have recently had my 3rd child :)
@15152278 CONGRATULATIONS!!! I have a set of twin boys, 11 months old, so I know how difficult it can be with having no time for being creative - I will check out your channel. Thanks again :-))
@DoR4Em0n Wilton copper colour for the skin, and you can use either a petal dust or grate some pastel chalk dust (buy either from a cake decorating shop) - brush on with a paintbrush like blush
omg they are soooo cute, my gymnastics teacher is having a baby, and i think i will make her one of those cupcakes, i just have a doubt, how did you make the color for the face?
I was just flicking through that book in Borders today :P some of the stuff in there looks amazing, and I must say your cupcakes look exactly like those in the book. well done. also wanted to ask a question, i'm considering working with fondant, where did you buy yours from cause your from australia, do you have to go to a special store? thanks :)
Thanks for your comment. You can buy White Orchard Icing from Woolworths or Coles, but I find Bakels RTR icing easier to use. The latter can be found in cake decorating stores. Best way is to google for cake decorating stores in your area. Otherwise, you can check out online stores eg cakedeco, cake decorating central or Complete Cake Decorating Supplies. (Warning - working with fondant is addictive!! :) but satisfying!)
Hi... I have that book too and absolutely love it! I want to make the baby faces but don't know how to get the skin colour...can you share your secret?? Or send an email! x
I have recently bought Wilton Copper colouring gel which makes a skin colour. But previously I have always used red colouring gel to make fondant a pale pink colour, then added a TOUCH of yellow colouring until I've achieved a skin colour (can also add a teeny bit of brown colouring or choc fondant to make the colour a bit darker). Hope that helps.
Thanks. Difficult to explain. The instructions are in the Planet Cake book available at book stores and cake decorating stores in Australia (and also online from Planet Cake)
Oh! These are absolutely adorable! You did a wonderful job! How inegenious! Love the dragonflies! You have got to tell me where to get a hold of that PlanetCake book! :) Great job girl! :)
Hi Laura! Sorry for the delay - I replied earlier but my comment wasn't posted. Thanks for the comment - Great cupcakes in the book. According to their website the book is due for release in the USA around Christmas.
Thanks Danielle. They're such cute cupcakes in the book. The music comes with the imovie program (real fancy program kind of equivalent to windows movie maker) on mac computers - don't think it's music in general circulation.
hallo...thank you so so much for the video responce.....can't wait to make that planet cake's cupcakes too......they look so cute.....planning to make more of them :))....love the video

Try Wilton Copper colouring gel (don't use too much as it will look too orange).

are cupcakes done in the same size cases as muffins, or are they done in what I call fairie cake cases?
emma2710gymnastics 2 years ago
They can be done in either of those. I'm not sure there is actually a standard size as I have come across cupcake cases in various sizes.
