  • This is how the renovated blocks of flats look like in Székesfehérvár,Hungary:

Nearly all have undergone refurbishment,a development I wish for every city.

  • One should use modern windows and doors that will keep the heat out, thus saving a lot on energy bills. Additionally, a person must insulate his/house for any heat to escape by carrying out a thorough weather-stripping.

  • Some pretty smart ideas here. Consider a whole house power conditioner for a cheaper way to get significant monthly savings for about twenty years . check out this channel... /powersavestore

  • did he say "I'm !!Stacey!! Johnson"?

  • The water heater is like an oven that stays on 24/7. Turn it off untill you need it , you'll save alot of money

  • i reccomend filament lamps, better for the health.

  • @UBERKron

--noob-- not better do your studies!!

  • Try Invisivent - An air conditioning vent that supports most ceiling fans or light fixtures to increase the airflow and reduce your energy cost.

  • I just got the country's first energy star Heat Pump Hot Water Heater for my net-zero solar powered home...it is incredible...

  • saving energy makes sense

  • would you pay $200 to save up to 40% a month in electric? Not a scam and completely safe. SURGEXPRO does it and guarantees it

  • try black google pixeleco to save energy.

    pixeleco . com

  • If you are going to try and reduce your home energy use, you may first want check out this site I just signed up at called my emissions exchange - google it, they pay you for using less power, very cool idea

  • I fully support energy saving compact fluorescents, but beware, they are not all they seem They have a lot of mercury in them. Another solution is to blank out greenpeace (who really know very little in the grand scheme of things) and build loads of nuclear power stations!

  • I agree, screw the greenies. in the UK we've been told that there will be national blackouts by 2016 if we do not start building new power stations. the government wants to build nuclear generators and/or wind farms, but the dumb Green brigade are trying to block them.

thanks to the green-idiots we'll be living in the dark ages, with no power or electricity! They're a bunch of idiots living in a fantasy world!

  • The report done on mercury in cfls was written by one of americas biggest power companies. Keep on readin stupid.

  • d1incharge... I support CFLs like I wrote above. All I did was point out that the mercury content is higher (which is a fact - similar report have been written in the UK). Overall however they are still 'greener'. Nothing 'stupid' about that info. I get the impression you are also NOT for the building of more coal fire power station (one of your other comments) which I also agree with.

  • I just remember a day when they first came out, some guy behind me in the checkout was gonna tell me all about the mercury issue and how they are worse for the environment, I asked where he read it and found out it was written by a for profit power company.

  • all of a sudden, the earth is going to cook us because ''we'' (it's really the company's) are polluting it,and know we have to buy there trash to ''save it'' WITCH ONLY ''POLLUTES'' THE AIR EVEN MORE.--- WE BREATH OUT CO2 FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!! SCREW ''GOING GREEN''

  • The earth has a perfect balance, without our interference it does sustain itself. Its not really anything new, people have been saying this for years, so that to keep our water and air clean, to keep the trees standing. Its just now people care, and its marketable because we're faced with an economical crisis, and global warming because of our selfishness.

for example, It takes 20 pounds of grain to make 1 pound of beef. We can completely solve the world food crisis if more people gave a shit

  • LED technology is now proven. Use LEDs for even more saving.

Install a power worx system to condition the power in your home and save more.

  • his name is stacy lol

  • Lol!!

  • I cannot recommend quality CFL lamps enough.

If you have a 12W bulb to replace a 60W incandescent bulb - and you buy an expensive one that lasts ~15,000 hours (like Osram brand) that single lamp will save you $200+ over the lamps service life, and will save the environment literally 1,000 lbs CO2 emissions.

    One bulb. Think about it.

  • loldozer: that's correct. CFLs are one of many ways to reduce energy consumption. but the funny thing is, once this new push to make consumers "aware of their energy consumption" is complete and we're all using less - energy companies will simply hike up their prices to cover their loss of profits.

so essentially, we will be using less in the future - yet we will pay exactly the same as we do today (more than likely a LOT more)

fuck energy conservation! it's a big scam. Fuck "going green"

  • hey stupid, hate to rain on your parade, but we are a municipal power company. PUBLIC to the lame person. So when my neighbor wastes power, my rates go up. Lets not forget that coal is not exaclty a clean form of energy production, so you might actually pollute less too. Hope this helps you to become a little less ignorant.

  • Great Video. Love it!

To learn more visit my channel. I have many other green solutions and lots of information on Energy related topics.

  • Time to live near light rail.

    light rail connect . com

  • Here's another HUGE energy saver... If you have an electric drip coffee maker turn it off after the coffee is made and transfer the coffee to a hot pot. Coffee makers use 1,000 watts (yes..1KW) every hour they are on. Mine was on 4 hours/day 7 days a week for an astounding 120,000 watts (120 KW) a month until I realized how much power it was using.

  • Kilowatt meters. Everybody should have one.

If the Government or Local authority supplied one to school children and demonstrated how to safely use it. Children could then demontrate it to parents and show them how to save energy at home and save the planet.

Do you think that is a Bright Light of an idea ?

  • @diamondsmajestic1 now thats a bright idea your the smartest youtube user i've seen

  • @diamondsmajestic1 sounds more like indoctrination to me
