This is no fantasy. No careless product of wild imagination. No, my friends. These indictments that I have brought you today. Specific charges, listed here against the individuals. Their acts of treason, their ultimate aim of sedition. These are matters of undeniable fact.
whenever I think that humankind has hit the skids, I think "well, we still aspire to greatness." Superman isn't cool because he's powerful; he's cool because his first thought (and ours) is: "how can I help others?" Something to ponder.
I gotta say if there was ever a better opening to a movie than this I definately haven't heard it.......Probably because there isn't one. Ha. Love this movie anyone agree?
Knowing Mr. Zack Snyder's taste in music, expect the upcoming "Man of Steel" film to replace John Williams theme with a hard rock song and 80's & 90's pop songs that somehow refers to Superman (like Spin Doctor's "Pocketful of Kryptonite")...the horror...the horror!
I saw Superman the first time when I was 5 years old. 27 years have passed since then, but this particular title followed me through my life. Most amazing title ever! And surely one of the best soundtracks ever composed! Thank you John!
"They're a great people Kal-El, they wish to be. They only lack the light to show the way. For this reason above all, they're capacity for good, I have sent them you, my only son.
I remeber listening to this song in line for Superman it made the ride Epic! XD when the song hit 1:16 the doors opened for mw to get on next. it made my day.
No one has managed to improve on something released in 1978. Not even a little bit. Even J. Williams music has become uninspired, like he's just phoning it in, like he's no longer hungry (cough*Harry Potter*cough)...
@ion010101 Are we talking improving on music or film? Also, does it have to specifically be 1978? Or perhaps just that decade alone? If so, I can think of quite a few examples that have succeeded in various ways both cinematically and musically. Additionally, if you are hinting at some sort of flaw or problem with John Williams' Harry Potter compilations, then I believe you are severely mistaken.
were always looking for live tracks ....i never found a live one of this perticular track but ... wow , well done . please link it to me if u can find it
@Mantiso i totally agree, I loved it when they used this in the superman returns trailer. too bad synder is not using the music, hes a fucktard anyways,
@tlpeterson WHEN DID SNYDER SAY HE WASNT USING THE MUSIC HE IS NOT BASING THE MOVIES ON THE OLD FILMS BUT THE MUSIC IS TO ICONIC TO NOT BE USED AND THERE IS NO FACT TO UR STATEMENT OF HIM NOT USING THE THEME AT ALL DUDE DONT STATE NOTHING WITHOUT EVIDENCE
@maj1986 Well sure, but there are (in my opinion) some slight similarities to Strauss' classic symphonic poem "Also Sprach Zarathustra" (at least the opening of it). Heck, even the love theme for Superman sounds like Strauss' Death and Transfiguration (just a tad bit... just a tad); anyway, the two composers are great anyhow, so it's not really bothering me. Thanks for your time.
@maj1986 I know, I can't really argue with that. Previously, I wasn't really trying to say that Williams is unoriginal, I just noticed similarities between two fantastic composers who are known to have that brass/ pomp and bravado style in some cases, that's all.
this song is awesome i am about 12 and i basically made up a planet where i was the creator of evrything and i evan came from a diffrent planet i called kryptos a bit of a rip off but wth i love this music
@Lightray110 Superman is forever fictional- and forever real- he exists within us- whatever your best thoughts of the human race are, that's what he represents- and don't let anyone tell you different
