  • Muckin O' Geordie's Byre, Atholl Highlanders, Bonnie Dundee and Steamboat. ;-]

  • Good

  • wgmandy1 i used to play with them back then too....used to love it....

  • I used to play with them back in the nineties. I'm from Zimbabwe but lived in Montrose for eight and a half years. Had some good years with them. Keep up the good work. I was there when Abe Bailey was tutor and Alan Jack was Pipe major.

  • better get the bus then...

  • Ahh... I love 'Highland Cathedral'...

Its on my will to be played at my funeral :-D haha

  • limpmania: i am pretty sure that the first tune is mucken O'geordies Byre.and then they go into bonnie dundee or the other way round but my pipe band plays this set and the slower tune they play last is highland cathedral

  • mon the B.C

  • What is the name for the first en last song?

  • Sorry, don't know. Try the band's web site and ask there.

  • @Fletch146 The Muckin, o' Geordie's Byre methinks ( The cleansing of George's cowshed}

  • @Fletch146 Muckin O' Geordie's Byre. Can't remember what the end one is. It's a modern one from a film or summat.

  • the first sounds like mucking o' Geordies Byre

  • love to know the real tune they,er playin cos there not playin that on on the video its soooooo much a mock up

  • if this band is playing that tune il smash my pipes they are so playin something else

  • @irishpiper54 all the playing in the video is the band it's the way it has been edited . when you hear the muckin o' geordies byre we were playing the 4/4 set

  • that may be but that does not reflect the true ability of the band we could all do that and look great but its a lie oity u didnt do it live

  • Nice !

  • Highland Cathedral 3:16

  • Nice video. Nice tunes :)

  • Does this song have a name? and if so can someone tell me what it is plz.

  • Muckin O Geordies Byre

  • WOW, it is good!! precioso!

  • i am from brechin i hink the are grade 4a but they have day jobs aswell they only play in there spare time

  • IM in a pipeband and am not sure what you are getting at regarding the fact that they are grade 4 because they have day jobs? I know many people in grade 1,2, and 3 bands that all have day jobs, kids, etc., and play in their spare time. The band in this video has a lot of young players and probably just lack experience which will come with time. They have a good sound for being so young.

  • i love this music

  • great video, SCOTLAND THE BRAVE

  • super le pipe band

  • Nice set selection. A few unsteady blowers on Highland Cthedral...Nice solo except last two noes. All round sound nice. What pipes, chanters and reeds do they use?

  • Sorry I don't know the technical stuff, but I'm sure the band manager would be interested in answering your questions. They can be contacted via their web site. YouTube don't allow links here so see my reply below for the band's web address.

  • I think i want to buy some pipes.

  • do yo have 1500 dollers just lting around?

  • by the way, the girls look sexy in thouse scottish skirts

  • This is pretty awesome. I'm from Brechin and I'm amazed this is on you tube. Brechin is a little, backwater, hickville of a town. It's population is under 10 000 - I think.

  • There you are then. Your wee city has a pipe band.

(web links not allowed so copy/paste addresses into search box)

If anybody out there want to know more about the band, where they are playing this year, etc., surf their web site: cityofbrechinpipeband

    For any tourists:

    - visit Scotland: visitscotland

    - visit the band's home town: angusahead

    - see the band play at Glamis Castle: glamis-castle (check band website for current event dates)

  • really cool, now i want to buy a bagpipe

  • Pretty good

  • beats Mull Of Kintyre evey time

  • The blond women with the drums great

  • Grade 4A

  • geez i´ve been there, at the glamis castle! god,i missed that...

    thanks for posting this ;)

  • spot the mistake at 2:14. tutut

  • "spot the mistake at 2:14. tutut"

Several mistakes but not too bad overall. Im guessing a grade 4 band. Bonnie Dundee is a 6/8 tune and they platyed it as a 4/4 it sounded like.

  • I'm guessing Grade 5, since they didn't march in.

  • The patch they were given didn't have space to march in. I only filmed a few minutes worth but they played for over an hour, so I could have missed the entrance.

  • I filmed them on spur of the moment. I know nothing about playing the bagpipes, but they sounded good to the untrained ear and the visitors enjoyed it. Apparently they're an amateur band with day jobs so expect mistakes.

  • It was a good viedeo. They are an amateur band and the tunes they played were enjoyable. I have been playing for a long time and its easy to catch mistakes but nontheless, not too bad.

  • I thought you were referring to the filming not the playing.

  • Wish I could play the pipes! Very inspiring and patriotic! Shame I'm an american:(

  • Don't let that stop you, you could have some Scottish blood in you anyway. Plenty of Scottish goings-on in States, e.e. New York.

  • Yes! The Muckin' of Geordie's Byre! Highly underrated tune.

  • Not up in all the bagpipe tunes, and although I love the drums, the pipesonly (with solo) is a favourite. Sounds very Scottish, though written by a German I think.

  • man i love the bagpipe muisc.

  • all i can say is bring back alan jack

  • Vote SNP.
