@racersedge17 She spent two years in this tree in the name of old forest preservation. She sought attention for her cause but not personally. Julia had a horrific accident that left her to relearn really basic functions like walking and talking then chose to make some big changes in her life. I don't think that's lame.

@racersedge17 well, it may be true that one would enjoy the attention they'd get for something like this - it's only human nature to want attention, verification of who and what we are. But I don't think the attention was her reason for doing it, & I think it turned out to be much larger than anyone ever thought it would be. And you gotta give her credit for all the time she persevered. I get claustrophobia just looking at that little platform, 2 days would have been enough for me.

You try climbing 180 feet up a Redwood tree while attacked by ignorant loggers everyday on the California coast and staying the course for a year or more during several Pacific Northwest Storms! Yeah she was looking for attention all right. Her life was on the line every day.
