@ProfessorHeadshot Yes, that's exactly what I did; adds to the dramatic effect, I think; it was tough fitting the music to the video and vice versa, but I think it came out pretty good.
Thanks for the video. my son is learning about this process in school and i wanted to show him the real thing, and this video helped him see that. thank you very much!

Okay. In order to find a Mondarch's chrysalis (that's the proper term for a butterfly's cocoon), you have to look on the underside of leaves of the milkweed plant. These will always be growing in a very sunny part of a garden, or woods. I'm not sure of the specific milkweed plant, as there are many species. You can first spot tiny little "eggs", that will then turn into little striped caterpillars; and then, lo! and behold! When they form a "J" shape, they'll start to make their chrysalises.
I see what you did there, timing the opening of the butterflies wings with the rise and fall of the orchestra. ;)

The song is called "Morning" by Edvard Grieg. It's from the "Peer Gynt Suite". There are a lot of great "tunes" from this suite.

thank you, i've always wanted to know the name of this piece of music - although to me it will always be the theme to 'snow white and rose red'!!!

@Margebird i prefer run of the mountain king from that particular suite. just saying.

@wawa2c4
And I'm sure when you say "run of the mountain king", you actually mean "HALL of the mountain king"
(just in case anyone wants to search for that music).
