  • I see what you did there, timing the opening of the butterflies wings with the rise and fall of the orchestra. ;)

  • @ProfessorHeadshot Yes, that's exactly what I did; adds to the dramatic effect, I think; it was tough fitting the music to the video and vice versa, but I think it came out pretty good.

  • It was my pleasure filming it and glad your son can enjoy it. It still amazes me when I watch it; I never get tired of it. Thanks!

  • Thanks for the video. my son is learning about this process in school and i wanted to show him the real thing, and this video helped him see that. thank you very much!

  • thesummermonarch is recording the life of a monarch and putting it on youtube from an egg to a butterfly. If you like this video maybe you should subscribe to thesummermonarch.

  • The song is called "Morning" by Edvard Grieg. It's from the "Peer Gynt Suite". There are a lot of great "tunes" from this suite.

  • thank you, i've always wanted to know the name of this piece of music - although to me it will always be the theme to 'snow white and rose red'!!!

  • @Margebird i prefer run of the mountain king from that particular suite. just saying.

  • @wawa2c4

And I'm sure when you say "run of the mountain king", you actually mean "HALL of the mountain king"

(just in case anyone wants to search for that music).

  • @Margebird YES THAT IS IT!!!!!! I couldn't think of the name and I just put something of that sort. Thanks!

  • what song is this??? I really want to know please.

  • Very beautiful! love the music

  • Okay. In order to find a Mondarch's chrysalis (that's the proper term for a butterfly's cocoon), you have to look on the underside of leaves of the milkweed plant. These will always be growing in a very sunny part of a garden, or woods. I'm not sure of the specific milkweed plant, as there are many species. You can first spot tiny little "eggs", that will then turn into little striped caterpillars; and then, lo! and behold! When they form a "J" shape, they'll start to make their chrysalises.

  • ha, the end is awesome on the laptop!

  • Butterflies are the only insects i genuinely like. Beautiful music and wonderful video! Bravo!
