@timehrhart01: I am not sure what a contorsiouse aorta is, but aortic valve replacement in general is one of the more commonly performed operations. Best of luck to you; Indianapolis has terrific cardiac surgeons.
I didn't have calcification, but, I did have this surgery, along with a partial aortic arch replacement. My aortic valve had ballooned to 5.7 cm in diameter, when a normal adult valve is about 3.5 cm, in diameter,...this being my 3rd heart surgery, at the age of 39.
I'm a machinist and I do some some pretty technical stuff, but good god. It's amazing how calm you are. lol. Bravo. If you don't have a huge ego you should.
Wow! That was amazing...my mom just had this done last week and watching this video really helped me understand what she has gone through. She had the extreme calcification also on her valve, in face her surgeon said it was one of the worst cases he has seen....so glad there is technology for this, not sure what I would do without her...thanks again.
