The idea is great, but only if your device has a large enough screen. I can't sufficiently use it on my Wii or cell phone because the side bar re-arranges the results making it tedious to view. So either the ability to turn it off, or if the site would default to not display on devises that don't appear to be a computer.

Why is this forced on to everyone? I would rather see the top menu expanded or even colorized and preserve my screen space. Search results are cramped between a massive, unhideable, bar on the left and the ad panel on the right. I wouldn't mind if it was a skinnier bar and expanded as you moused over it or clicked it. but its not helpful and ruins google for me.

u idiots i liked it better before. the panel is total crap especially when u use it with image search. Before, i used to be able to view 5 images in a row (horizontally) & know (because of the panel) its reduced to 4 images. I know that u have made up for it by adding more images vertically (in a column) but i feel i like im luking through those images forever! plus the images r way 2 spaced out!

Plus the "definition" tab on the top has gone, i cant spell to save my life so i miss that feature!

Well, i think the option to hide this panel is a must. The panel can be useful for some very rare usecases, but for the most common usecase "general search everywhere" it simply eats the precious space of the screen. It takes almost 6th part of the window. Please, allow users to hide it.

The "hl=all" fix does work, but I hate being w/o search suggestions. Google has screwed up, but they're still the best search engine by far. I hate all the sponsored links and irrelevant crap that comes up on other search engines. I just want the full functionality of Google back with the sidebar made optional, I hope they get it right and fix it!

Google is so much better than Bing in my opinion. Bing image search is the ugliest thing I have ever seen. Google is set out perfectly and gives an understandable easy search unlike many search engines that get thousands of views each day. This tool box is actually a really good idea. They should put something like this on YouTube! :D

Well here is a simple fix not requiring any modified .CSS or hacks! To do so is thankfully straight forward, simply make this your default search page:

There is a Greasemonkey fix as well for FF, but I can't find it yet.
