my 86 has a massive amount of interior drone and you cant even hear the person in the passenger seat after 75 mph and the radio is pretty much useless at that point as well but id rather listen to my exhaust than the radio anyday
i can say i like both flowmaster and borla, i have a borla pro xs dual exhaust on my 4 cylinder 1986 dodge 600 convertible and it sounds badass, they are pretty expensive, i paid 320$ for the muffler and a total of 1k$ stuck into my exhaust...on the other hand i have the super 44 series on my 01 f150 supercrew and it also sounds badass, alltogether i spent 225$ on my f150's exhaust...if you buy a truck ya gotta make it loud, i kinda wish my f150 had more interior drone from the flowmasters
Chevy avalanches suck. Two words CHEAP PLASTIC!!! Probly sounds horrible too with a muffler cut that out it saves a lot of money. Plus magnaflow dominates Borla.
nice tuck and a really nice sound, your battery sounds weak tho, i know that because ive heard that starting noise with mine about a million times lol
borlas are awesome, cept its a grand for duals for my v6 mustang, thats the only bad part, but when ur that good and popular with auto modders then you really dont care right? i love f150s with straight pipes though, the really really really loud ones, its awesome
Just buy a cheap dual exhaust system, then install Borla mufflers in place of whatever the system comes in. Ta Da, a true dual system, for an ass load less cash.

@Jake111992 Ford has made great motors for awhile. The Triton series was way ahead of times. I've seen these motors take a lot of abuse, way more then they should ever have to go through. I don't like GM because every GM product I've driven feels robbed of power, or to jumpy. Ford has the best suspension hands down, best body, and the motors are great. The 7.3L Powerstroke was rated at 275 HP in its last year, and it will pull better then Duramax or Ford's 6.0 ever though about doing.
I do too,and I am from LA-and we tend to think and act atad bit faster than this -hick town, now back to Ozzy /for some wake me up music.Thank you for the comment.bro
Actually it does not get better fuel economy. Secondless the GMC and Chevrolet are both pushrod motors. Which is more prone to wear and tear, especially in those designs. We got an 06 Silverado with a 6.0L V8 in it, and it has 88k and the lifters are rattling... Numbers are just numbers. Ford wins in Torque, and it wins in pulling because they generally have better geared transmissions, and better rear ends.
In the 98 Sierra I've got (5.7L) I've overtowed for at least 30k of the 145K miles on it, never had a single problem with the truck, and not towing, I can average 21 on pure highway trips. Best I've ever averaged in my 02 GT stang was 27 mpg.
@Jake111992 First of all the 5.7L gets terrible gas mileage. If its a 4x4 that is, it averaged about 12-13 on a good day, pulling something was worse. I use to own a 98 Sierra 4x4 with a 5.7L V8, it was a standard 4x4, no z71 or nothing. It got around 13 on a good day. I have a 79 Ford tho that has 500k miles on it being a 351 that will get 8-10mpg, but it pulls 100x better then that GMC ever did. I have a new F450 Powerstroke as my main vehicle.
I don't own an F150, but the company I work for has several versions of the F-Series including F650-F750, and compared to the Duramax's and chevy gassers everyone prefers Ford to Chevrolet. I've had a guy who was a die hard chevy fan when he started working for us, go out and get a Ford after driving a base model F150 and comparing it to his luxury 08 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Thats bull shit. I know a guy that had his rear end go out in his F150. Also 2 other famers and the rear end go out. The only thing they hauled was a small horse Trailer. GM makes the better truck hands down.
@50Bowen50 Really its bullshit eh. Its funny because the chevy's rear ends are out all the time here at work, and the foul thing is we don't pull shit with them. I just went to chevrolet today to drop a truck off, they said they've had a lot of issues with the rear.. but yeah the rear end going out is really a point taken for Ford isn't it LOL.
@lizard2006 i prefer chevy but i think fords are just as good i just prefer the way a chevy looks better but all i really care about is long as it is American u know?
what model muffler is that? And how does it sound inside the cab while your cruising, is the sound over bearing to the point you have to turn up the radio like with most flowmasters?
i dont remember what model that is i know its a single inlet dual outlet with 2 and 1/2 openings Borla XS series. as far as the sound it is great barely hear it at cruising speeds, but when you give it gas it comes to life this video was after instalation it sounds a bit more louder after its broken in
Borla is for imports only, and chevy motors are still push rod because they work, faster and more powerful then fords 5.4, which is a horrible motor all together, i am a certified ford technician, and im telling you, the 5.4 is a mess of a motor.
i bet you feel real big and bad with your retarted looking tips. It sounds like a stock exhaust to me. Get some Flowies or magnaflow, then we can talk about how good it sounds..
i think your just jealous because chevrolet still builds pushrod engines. and just for your info, i have 2 fords and only one chevy.thank you very much asshole^_^
Pushrod engines LMAO... Yeah and they still get 15mpg and have lower HP then the 5.4L triton... I am sorry little buddy but I have never been jealous of no damn chevy engine. I've owned them when I had to. The only chevy truck I ever liked was the little S-10, and the 72 Pickup series. I hate the rest. Even if I could past the unreliable pos part of them, and the shitty frames, the looks would scare me off.
yeah, i can agree, the new chevys are ugly as fuck. but you cant tell me that you dont like the mid 90's body style chevys. go to my page, watch my walk around vid and tell me what you think. i do like ford for your opinion, but this particular one just dosent sound good to me... at all....
its borla though its not about the sound, they strive for performance. I ain't a fan of the 90's ones. We have them at work. They are tough till about 200k miles then they begin to give out.
If I like any vehicle its the GMC's the 04-06's... They have a nice look, still unreliable though. We have a 79 ford at work 351 Cleveland has 800k miles on it, we have a Ford Powerstroke at work with 500k miles on it, we got rangers (our parts trucks and flaggers) with over 300k miles. F150's with 350k miles... We buy all different brands to, and so far Ford has been the toughest.
my Chevy has like 298k on the ticker and its all original parts. but i have a 79 f 250 ranger that has over 600k on it. so i know what you mean. i just like my chevy more. its just personal preference.
GMC and Ford both make high quality vehicles. I've got a 98 Sierra with 145K on it and have over towed the recommended cap for at least 30K of those miles, and have had zero problems with it.
i just listened to it...that thing does sound real good...a lot better than this thing lol. i got a '93 F250 with 2 high flow cats and a couple 40's on it...tell me what you think
Our 5.4L 2WD fords get around 20 mpg. The 09's are designed to get better fuel economy. As for the motors the 5.4L is bigger, numbers say a lot but I have driven both chevy and ford's v8's and the pulling power in the chevrolet is weak in comparison to Ford. I never know that I am pulling a real heavy load with Ford, takes off fast, and easy without straining, where as the Dodges, and Chevys strain, and sound like they are doing a lot of work.
yea or you could get a diesel and there is no comparison in power my 5spd diesel can bet my friends Chevy 1500 with the 5.7L 350 automatic! especially up hills and pulling a load!
LOL 5.3L vortec let me take the hearders off my F150 and it will lope like a chevy to, ie it aint suppose to do that dumb ass. lope = bad in a new engine douchebag, a ford guy knows that, not a chevy idiot.

GMC 5.3L XFE= 15/21 with 315 hp 338 ft/lb torque
GMC 6.0L=14/19 with 367 hp and 375 ft/lb torque
Ford 5.4L= 14/18 with 310 and 365 ft/lb torque
So the GMC has .1L less, 5 hp more and gets better fuel economy than the 5.4L
The 6.0 has 57 hp more and 10 ft/lb more torque and STILL gets better fuel economy.
