Metal Sonic is basically made by Dr. Robotnik to mimic the characteristics of Sonic only he is faster stronger and smarter then the original Sonic.
IT was thought that Metal Sonic had no feelings and had nothing in common with Sonic except looks and his super speed. Although at the end when he saves Sonic from dying in the volcano with him, it shows Metal Sonic does have emotion.
