"Evil Akuma" his "name" is Shin Akuma it's really just Akuma trying his hardest. Alpha 3 as well.

Evil Ken showed up in SVC Chaos as "violent" ken.

I hope they fix that in one of the hopeful subsequels the way Namco made Jinpachi playable on Tekken Dark Resurrection. You guys do know that Street Fighter IV is after Street Fighter 2, but before Street Fighter 3. It's possible that Gouken was still alive before he fought against Gouki and lost his life. As you've noticed, Ryu doesn't use the Shin Shoryuken in this game at all.

So, what I presume, this is after Gouki's appearance in the Street Fighter 2 storyline, but before Gouki's confrontation with his brother. You know, Ryu and Ken were still training under Gouken when he died. So, this is possible.

theres an anime showing the events after the sf2 tourney. the movie features the life of chun li after sf2. this whole game is after sf2 and gouken was already dead. but i do like what you were aiming for. alot of people think that this game is a sequel when it really isnt.

Actually Gouken returned because Bison needed a old geezer to complete his world conquest, and he resurrected Gouken from a nail and wait a lot of years so he would turn old, then he time traveled back to the present, the old man was not as strong as Bison expected, so he decided to kidnap Dan and travel backwards again, but since Dan sucked he decided to... anyway, he made a time paradox after fucking out 34 times. He returned back from the dead because Bison send himself from the fut..

well as long as i know, in comics and movies, ryu and ken actually saw gouken dead body... in street fighter alpha generations ryu saw how gouki kills gouken in a fight... and finally ryu started his journey to became stronger when he notices that gouki kills his master and he cant defeat him (sorry about my english its kinda sucky!)

Gouken was dead, apparently is the only one that """""SURVIVE""""" or he was on a ultra comma by the shun Goku satsu. Like a buried alive case. and he became the supreme hermitt. thats is my logic way of thinking. If not then capcom just add him to please the fans. BTW he cannot be a flash back since gouki/akuma beat up gouken has the monk balls collar (sorry i dont now what the name is) he took that thing from gouken "dead" body.
