Yes it will. Every test I've seen has it at 4.7 seconds at least. What's the Challenger.. Like, 4.8? Face it, the challenger is too big and too heavy.
SRT8 is very close, but the SS does do a quicker 1/4th mile and is much better in the corners, the FE3/FE2 suspension was developed and tuned on the German Nurburgring. Plus the SS does weigh substantially less than the SRT8.
The Dodge is a big relaxed muscle car, where as the Camaro is more like a sports car.
Maybe next year the Camaro SS will be faster and handle better than the Challenger SRT-8 but until then good try GM. but this camaro looks like shit and doesnt perform.

The 2010 GT is suppose to be the fastest Mustang GT built to date wtih a 3:73 gear & 315hp and 325tq great handling & throttle respouse in the track pack 0-60 from motor trend and edmunds rated it at 4.9 in its best launch and mid 13s in there best 1/4m. I give the 93-97 Zs credit and all but I don't think they will be able to complete with the 2010GT unless they do some upgrading.
People will also be Kenne Bell'ing the 2010 GTs like crazy with the new upgrades Ford has added to them should turn out nicely, either way I like both the Camaro & the Mustang I just perfer the 2010 Mustang over the Camaro because of the looks and the Supercharger is easier/cheaper to come by and a few other speed modications.
You're probably right on that, I imagine by 2010 GT will be outrunning the mid-90's Z28, but cars being stock. Maybe with some bolt-ons, but the LT1 Z28 is probably gonna need some forced induction to take it outright...

Exactly......read Car and Drivers new issue with the Hyundai Genesis Coupe and the Camaro.....apparently it wouldve been a Mustang Challenger and Camaro comparo but the other two companies were too afraid of Chevy's V6 that puts the other cars to shame....They said it was pitiful that the new Stang/old one has a higher litre output than either the Hyundai or Camaro but makes way less HP....That just shows how Ford cant make a good engine....same goes with their V8 its lame

MPLSTORM... I will agree with you on one thing. NOPAR (NO POWER) did an excellent job taking a previous body style and replicating it almost 100 percent. The new camaro doesn't even look close to a '69 Camaro and GM doesn't have to bring back an exact body style to sell their car. I just cant wait 'til I catch an SRT8 on the road so I can destroy it with my old corvette..

Chevy is too scared to test the SS against the SRT-8 because Mopar always put GM to shame. The Srt-8 Challenger kept up with the GT500! lol the Camaro SS did not, no one can fuck with Mopar. I saw a Challenger stock Srt-8 at the track 2 days ago that did a 4.5, 0-60. Never seen a camaro do that!

SRT8 is very close, but the SS does do a quicker 1/4th mile and is much better in the corners, the FE3/FE2 suspension was developed and tuned on the German Nurburgring. Plus the SS does weigh substantially less than the SRT8.
The Dodge is a big relaxed muscle car, where as the Camaro is more like a sports car.

Challenger SRT8 goes 0-60 in 5.5 seconds. Camaro goes 0-60 in 4.6 seconds. The difference is almost 12K dollars, and the Camaro gets 23 MPG compared to the Challengers 19. Camaro has wayyy more bang for the buck. 2010 gt500 goes 0-60 in 4.5, btw.

And lastly the LS9, and the LSA for that matter are supercharged engines to begin with so the term "supercharged LS9" as you put it is totally wrong. Thats like a double-negative or some shit.

Shelby will be faster, as it has a supercharger. Take that away, and Camaro walks all over Mustang. In fact, my '96 Z28 with only minor mods will keep up with (if not outrun) the CURRENT Mustang GT, which pushes only 315hp at the flywheel.

Yeah but you can't take that away because doesn't it come supercharged from the factory? The 2010 GT is suppose to be the fastest Mustang GT built to date wtih a 3:73 gear & 315hp and 325tq great handling & throttle respouse in the track pack 0-60 from motor trend and edmunds rated it at 4.9 in its best launch and mid 13s in there best 1/4m. I give the 93-97 Zs credit and all but I don't think they will be able to complete with the 2010GT unless they do some upgrading.
