Hi J.B In Ireland I think the best place to buy bullion is goldcore.com situated here in Dublin,I find them excellent to do business with .J.B.If we as a nation took Ireland's pension reserve and bought 17 billion euro worth of Gold / Silver and told the E.C.B to piss off I wonder what would happen to the price of P.Ms, plus Ireland would have a reserve of Gold / Silver, while fiat money totally diminished in value due to America / Europe printing money.

@omegahpla cont ... agreed speculative value, so why isn't precious metals in the same boat as fiat currency? because it's all agreed speculative value anyway ... and with the fact that nothing finite can ever represent something infinite I don't think you have a very good answer in Metals backing. Gold is worth maybe $3.80 a lb & Silver $2.20 based on their true utilitarian value, better than paper maybe, but still same as fiat on the balance over that. I don't have a great answer either ...
to me the ONLY thing of real value is land (AGRICULTURAL....not development) and the reason is obvious.
have always thought gold and silver is only one step above paper.
gold is precious because it is hoarded by governments and it is "percieved" as being precious by individuals, try eating it.....won't work. If I had some money and the land of course was cheap enough I would buy land only.
@donnyab Yep, and a way to work it primitively effectively to grow enough food & the means to protect what you have from the ones who can't eat their main investment.
@omegahpla Sorry you don't know who 'THE LONE RANGER' was . You must be in your 40's or younger . A Western hero product of Hollywood - he never killed anyone, faced down all kinds of real baddies - and was an all round ' NICE GUY ' - he even had a token N. American Indian as his main buddy . ' SILVER ' was his horse buddy . ' Hi - yo Silver Away ' was his battle cry which opened & closed every show. A 1950's version of Superman & Batman all rolled into one. Real simple stuff . jb
@jbyeats Sorry I was being vague, I know who the Lone Ranger was, used to watch him on TV as a kid.
I was referring to Max Kaiser, I didn't know him. I've checked him out a little, not quite sure of him, but less wary than I was. There are players who are big red flags for me, who are connected to the radical revolutionary left who are taking over & using the left the us, or the ones I'll call the Imperialist world play right in left clothing who I see as using the radical left as dupes.
@omegahpla In the US - there seems to be a major problem defining what left & right in politics - really means . I come out of left wing radical tradition - yet I find myself more aligned with figures in the US who would consider themselves as right wing Republicans. Many of the so called lefties I see in the US are just crackpots and liberals posing as do - gooders . My politics can be define as ' libertarian co-operation ' - very simple stuff really . many thanks.jb
@jbyeats It's not just a problem defining, it means something different. I've spoken to you before about the differences in the meaning of capitalist when you have a class system & basically Oligarchic systems as you have in Europe. @jbyeats You have the left in the US pretty well figured out ... I listened to you enough that I wouldn't think you were one of those in the far left. Many in the US don't really know what the terms mean though actually, it's true. They follow what those important to them follows, same with sports teams & religion. Deutsche Bank Germany 5.HSBC In Europe but hard to nail down 6.Credit Agricole, France 7.Bank of America, USA, largest US bank after being force fed Meryl Lynch lol 8.Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Japan 9.JP Morgan Chase USA 10. USB AG, Switzerland.
@omegahpla JP Morgan is one of the 2 too big to fail banks in the US, along with Bank of America which they used to cover Meryl's problems by buying it, but why someone would go after JP Morgan above others, especially some bankers specifically (like Rothschild family owns a huge stake in B of A & it's probably not even mostly owned by US citizens) escapes me.
One key is that Rothschilds, Rockefeller, and others are pushing the global warming scam for putting a world wide tax on flora's air CO2
@geir44 It would harm JP Morgan - of that there is no doubt. They hold massive short positions. Would it collapse JPMorgan ? - probably not. We must not forget the FED might simply issue a huge bunch of digital money & transfer it to JPMorgan's Account. No matter what - IT WOULD CREATE MASSIVE HEADACHES FOR ALL INVESTMENT BANKS HOLDING SHORT POSITIONS - AS WELL AS INCREASING DRAMATICALLY THE TRADING PRICE OF SILVER . Good all round - for the little guys - just for once. Many thanks. jb
The Chinese government has been encouraging its population to buy physicval gold, why? Is it possible thst it see it as a mechanism to hegemony,or a saviour from the imported inflation from the USA?China is rumbling and the Chinese blogosphere are not happy-not unlike their German counterparts. The Chinese have a habit of executing their elite,so is this another mechanism to stop the fall of the guillotine?Whatever, the American people are being dreadfully abused by their oligarchs.
I buy silver not as an investment even though it is., I buy and view them as silver bullets.
Think about the fiat money you waste monthly are cigarettes,. booze and eating in restaurants. Change your lifestyle. cut down on smoking, start buying fresh food and cooking it. Yesterday I went to a cafe in a shopping mall here in NL., I had a grilled cheese sandwich and some french fries. 5 Euros. I could buy a loaf of bread for .90 cents., and cheese for 1.50 and make 20 sandwichest a hom
@topographicoceans11 Fascinating comments . Like myself , I don't believe that JPMorgan will crash . The FED would simply issue them another huge quantity of ' digital ' money . However it is possible to put them under huge pressure & in turn raise the value of this commodity ' THE POOR MAN'S GOLD ' the real value of Paper money is being destroyed world wide with this issuance of new money constantly. Getting into silver is an obvious safety mechanism. Many thanks. jb
I really appreciate your comments and I must say your accent stirs the 1/4 Irish in me. I think we need more Irish, German, Western European, etc. on YouTube. pleasure to hear what you guys and gals have to say.
My aunt has her money in bonds. Last week for her 90th birthday, I gave her a one-ounce silver bullion round. She loves it and checks the spot price several times a day. My mother & I have discussed precious metals frequently. One of her bonds was called. She'll likely go into precious metals too.
Anyone who lives in a city with coin/bullion dealers may wish to call around town to check on inventory and the premium charged above spot. Dealers are happy to provide the info.
@azusgm ' She loves it & checks the spot price several times a day ' Your aunt has BECOME HER OWN TRADER . YOU HAVE OPENED UP A NEW WORLD FOR HER . IF I WERE YOUR AUNT I WOULD BUY A QUANTITY OF PHYSICAL SILVER & GOLD . IT WILL KEEP HER MIND OCCUPIED & SHE WILL LEARN A HUGE AMOUNT ABOUT CURRENCIES & COMMODITIES. I WOULD ENCOURAGE ALL I COULD . SHE WILL BENEFIT GREATLY FROM IT . Many thanks. jb
Mr.Keiser is the ballsiest media personality, with a useful purpose that is, I have seen. Took me a while to conclude that he is for real. He is great at cutting through the Orwellian nonsense that pervades our "discourse".
That would be something if the "buy silver" thing he started reached a tipping point and caused our betters to take notice.
@NAVYGOLDEIGHTFOUR Hi Navy , You know how it works on a boat . A young seaman arrives on board . Within a short period ' thing's ' start happening. This seaman is a like a catalyst for events. It's very difficult to actually explain it . Keiser's knowledge or insight comes out of his own experience - but he also has a unique ability to sense ' What is possible ' -this is a great gift . I believe he has really hit on something here . It is so simple - but effective. Many thank jb
The notion of a critical mass cones from the conquest of nations.
It is said that 3% of any population is in any way reactive to change either for or against, and that this 3% is the steering group core of the mass.
This theory is bourne out (or may even be based on) the fact that only 3% of the Colonial population of what later became the USA had anything to do with the War of Independence - though they pretty much all later accepted the change.
I hope I am about to buy a couple of silver coins on ebay but I am not sure if I am getting a good price or not. Not easy to buy silver here in Ireland! I don't want to pay too much over the bullion price (these work out at $45 an ounce) but I would be delighted to help Max and his 'one inch punch' against JP Morgan's achilles heal. Next in the firing line has to be the Vampire Squid itself who I'm sure once got their claws on some of Ireland's SSIA gambling funds via Charlie McCreevy grrrr
Yea ,silver and gold cannot be printed or copied by manufacturing like a paper bill that has no precious metal backing.A 100 note is just as worthless as a 1 note ,it is paper no matter how ya slice it and dice it.I got interested in silver back in February and it looks like I have made a good choice ,I hope.Your silver dollar is now worth $30 usd now,I hope the Kieser man is right .
@NeddLudd1811 Like I said , everybody wants their heroes power boiled in goodness 100% . Life isn't like that. Like everyone - Keiser is not perfect. Remember he was a broker for almost 10 years . We have to agree to disagree . I am an old guy and for more than 40 years I have traded in commodities to live . Silver is a very fine commodity - with a very bright future . While we have huge economic uncertainty in the world - it will continue to flourish - as fiat money collapses. Thanks jb
Just remember that any form of silver will do. Keep your eye our, you might see some spoons at a car boots sale!!! You dont have to go to a broker.
As the value of fiat money continues to go down due to continuous bailouts, silver and gold will only go one way. However like jb i have little money and cant afford to purchase.
But i'll keep my eye out for a few cheap spoons!!!!!
Nice vid JB and an excellent suggestion on buying Silver. The VAT on Silver here in the UK is a feckin rip off and its about to go up to 20% in January.
Cold ? I swear I just seen a Polar Bear go past my window ! Don't you just love this global warming ?
@weslake898 As I mentioned in the video . He is a young man . He doesn't need to do this. The spotlight of the whole financial world will be turned on him should this start to go wrong for JPMorgan. Morgan & Co have been in business for over 150 years or so . They are a major cornerstone of the US investment fraternity . Crossing them could be very frightening indeed. It 's easy for me to say - but I think it could create major problems for Morgan. All power to you Max. Thanks. jb
You have to pay 21% on precious metals in Ireland, unless you buy American eagles because it's legal tender.
The Irish VAT Guide 2008 page 128
VAT-exempt activities including:
(d) the issue, transfer or receipt of, or any dealing in, currency, bank notes and metal coins, in use as legal tender in any country, excluding such bank notes and coins when supplied as investment goods or as collectors' pieces
@amokkisback Wow, great, I have bought from the US and got stung in the UK last year, I wonder should i have checked up on this? I think I will try from Ireland when I go home.
Removing money from the bank or closing bank accounts will in no way hurt any banks in the US, the Federal Reserve can print more money than anyone can withdraw. The banks don't need our money, they get it from nothing. Think about it, how much interest do they give you for your money??? The banks need us spending this fiat money. If you want to hurt the banks, trade your money for commodities...gold, silver or anything physical. Stop using fiat money, that is the only way to hurt banks.
@jbyeats My guess silver's price will decline in 2011 until 2012, then rise up again until steadily until 2015 After 2015 price will drop dramatically and bottom out in 2017. Look for a severe recession between 2015 and 2017.
The only trick to avoid this is to be self sufficient or realize when to buy and sell.
Direct action is activity undertaken by individuals, groups, or governments to achieve political, economic, or social goals outside of normal social/political channels.
If you are going to buy silver or gold for that matter, my take on it is always buy the bullion bars and avoid the coins. The coins may have aestic appeal but you pay a premium for them over the plain bullion bars.
@Finnbar01 Sure. But you mentioned gold as well - gold bars can be quite expensive. 1oz silver bars are a bit harder to come by than 1oz silver coins. Where is the best place to get 1oz silver bars in the UK or Ireland?
@eoghan93 Single coins can be very expensive due to high premiums. These people sell single 1oz silver bullion coins:-
bullionbypost[dot]co[dot]uk
24carat[dot]co[dot]uk
If one is a resident in Guernsey, silver can be purchased VAT free at guernseymint[dot]com. Yes, VAT free. If you are not a Guernsey resident, you can still buy it there and then pay the VAT when you get back to the UK or Ireland.
Dont tell me your not into 'money' just because you have no cash, im sure your quite into 'wealth'.

What you suggest re: the purchase of Gold/Silver
by our Government is a non runner.
It wouldn't be tolerated . If we got out of the EU
, re instituted our own currency & set about a
real & serious revamp of our own finances - then lots
of things unthinkable before , would become possible.

The Dollars they control in US Bonds is vast ( 2 Trill plus US ? )

Once you have thought it out - it is obvious that
real wealth , NEVER lies in pieces of paper .
It can only lie in physical assets & commodities.
THE elites do NOT hoard Paper as wealth .
AS soon as they acquire paper - they transfer it
immediately into wealth producing assets & commodities .
The do this because their families going way back in time - have always done this . That's one of the main reasons they
are wealthy . Many thanks. jb

THEY KEEP ORDINARY PEOPLE'S MONEY IN THEIR BANKS &
THEIR FRIEND'S BANKS.

As I said in earlier comments. I have a strange feeling
about this money buying - linked to a political message.
I think It will really catch on - it is true democracy at work.
As ' sheeple ' we are told they is NO WAY we can affect
change in the political or economic world apart from
using OUR VOTE at election time.
THIS SILVER ISSUE DISPROVES THAT POINT TOTALLY .
THIS IS TRUE PEOPLES POWER AT WORK .
Many thanks. jb

Buying silver is a chumps move, if you want your society back then bite the bullet and reclaim it.

But i'll keep my eye out for a few cheap spoons!!!!!
eiresai 1 year ago
@eiresai
I wouldn't be able to purchase much at the moment
- @ 28/29 US $ per OZ. When I bought them - they were 6 US $ per OZ.
Agree about the spoons etc. Keep looking.
Appreciate the support . Many thanks. jb

The government & its state authorities have entered all our lives
and have taken our most basic freedoms away.
This is a great opportunity to redress that balance & give
some power back to the people. This is REAL POLITICS at work.

@marniespeaks What I like about him , is that he speaks from personal experience .
He didn't read what he says - from some book.
All that has to happen is some serious TV personality run with this
& boys - oh - boy will there be action.
It really is so simple.
He's a hero alright - A REAL 21st CENTURY ' LONE RANGER '

Nice vid JB and an excellent suggestion on buying Silver. The VAT on Silver here in the UK is a feckin rip off and its about to go up to 20% in January.
Cold ? I swear I just seen a Polar Bear go past my window ! Don't you just love this global warming ?

I believe that Mr Keiser & one of his associates
from Zerohedge , have really touched on something
very basic / very democratic in suggesting this Silver Move .
I am convinced this will take off - someone from the
Main Stream Media just has to run with it & this ' Critical Mass '
effect will kick in .
WE think it's cold here in Ireland . Its not really - you get it
real bad in the UK . Many thanks again. jb

I have a strange feeling in my water - that this ' Buying Silver '
concept for ordinary people will really take off - thanks in the main
to Max Keiser & all of his work in this field.
He is to be commended for this.
He doesn't need to do this. Even though it could bring him lots
of problems - he seems fearless in this matter .
All power to him. Many thanks. jb

21% tax*
amokkisback 1 year ago
You have to pay 21% on precious metals in Ireland, unless you buy American eagles because it's legal tender.
The Irish VAT Guide 2008 page 128
VAT-exempt activities including:
(d) the issue, transfer or receipt of, or any dealing in, currency, bank notes and metal coins, in use as legal tender in any country, excluding such bank notes and coins when supplied as investment goods or as collectors' pieces
Hope that helps some of ye :)

@amokkisback
Please note that any commercial transaction which takes place
within the boundaries of the EU - WILL ALREADY HAVE VAT APPLIED
TO IT. As long as the bullion is purchased within the EU -
there will be NO EXTRA - Irish VAT applied .
IF THE BULLION IS PURCHASED INSIDE IRELAND - THEN IRISH VAT
IS INDEED APPLIED.
Many thanks. jb

@ZullGostnu2
This seems like very sensible & sound advice to ME.
The Max Keiser plan suggests buying Silver - it
is a twin track approach . It makes people aware of
what REAL MONEY is & also attacks this giant
Wall Street Bank . JP Morgan.
As you suggest - the FED in the US , simply issues
more - if required at almost Zero interest pa .
Many thanks. jb

If you are going to buy silver or gold for that matter, my take on it is always buy the bullion bars and avoid the coins. The coins may have aestic appeal but you pay a premium for them over the plain bullion bars.
Finnbar01 1 year ago
@Finnbar01
I would have to consider that - now that Ioz of silver is trading
at around 28/29 Dollars per oz.
Sound advice. Many thanks. jb
jbyeats 1 year ago
@Finnbar01 That is good advice for people with lots of money. For people who do not have lots of money - coins are a great option.
will8ace 1 year ago
@will8ace For people who don't have lots of money they should be buying 1 troy ounces of silver bullion bars, buying coins makes no sense.
Finnbar01 1 year ago
@Finnbar01 Sure. But you mentioned gold as well - gold bars can be quite expensive. 1oz silver bars are a bit harder to come by than 1oz silver coins. Where is the best place to get 1oz silver bars in the UK or Ireland?

ive looked before to buy a single silver coin but i only find places that sell the coins in bulk :(

I can't give out direct advice to anyone.
I always check the price of actual silver on KITCO .COM
Then , I sometimes look on Ebay to check what SINGLE coins
are selling for .
Many thanks. jb

@eoghan93 Single coins can be very expensive due to high premiums. These people sell single 1oz silver bullion coins:-

If one is a resident in Guernsey, silver can be purchased VAT free at guernseymint[dot]com. Yes, VAT free. If you are not a Guernsey resident, you can still buy it there and then pay the VAT when you get back to the UK or Ireland.
