@clickware yes they work and hes not the first guy to use this idea ......just the first to be on the news with it its been around a long time but if he make money at have at it...
This does work however, I saw this in a fishing magazine nearly 15 years ago. I am not sure if he is the true inventor. It works with crappie pearch and Largemouth bass.
"its not bad, its actually already up to 16 degrees" i know its 2 totally different locations and seasons probably but here it is nearly thanksgiving and its 79 degrees outside in georgia right now at 13:54
@Sk0gg1es Not really. You can catch trout and bass and panfish, but in 99.9 percent of cases, a bigger lure is needed for bigger fish. There are times where fish just wont hit a spoon at all. (which is what the bottle caps are fished as)
@DXReviews69 Never said he invented it. He was just smart enough (unlike you) to patent it and sell it. Good luck making claims that got you nowhere in life and that can't even be backed up! By the way, the fish i caught was THIS BIG!
If I was a beer company, I'd have the directions to a 'bottle cap lure' printed on the side of my carton, and throw in a free hook and swivel with every six pack. If I were the bottle cap lure guy, I'd start selling beer in this type of package.
i feel sorry for the guy.molson got pissed at him for using thier logo but he was really adverstising for them like cmon free adverstising!!!!!!! molson would probably make lots of money off that all i got to say is keep doing what you like doing man:)
Yeah, patent law allows you to make copies for "research purposes", especially if you change or improve his design. Really is a novel idea. Just don't be selling your one offs, I'm sure BottleCapLureGuy wouldn't appreciate that.
You make them for me then & I will buy them off you. Pony up big boy. You can do all our custom printed packaging and custom printed bottle caps too. Sweet glad you advised me. Cost me 15,000 for just the machine we bend them and punch them with. $25,000 to for the patent and trade mark.
I didnt say I wanted to mass produce them. All im saying is why buy one for 5 dollars when I can make my own. I wont need to buy a 15000 dollar machine and custom print packaging and all the other goodies.
@BottleCapLureGuy I use a Do-It lure body mold to make 1/16th ounce weights to put into my bottle cap lures. It adds plenty of weight to the lures for casting. I don't know about the packaging, but between the wire, beads, clevis, lead body and #4 treble they only cost me pennies to make. I'll put one of mine up against one of yours any day of the week, and twice on Sundays.
@BottleCapLureGuy Why would you spend 15,000 on a machine to bend bottle caps when you could employ a hundred immigrants and pay them fuck all to sit there and bend them all day like they would do in the jungle anyway
I agree that it is a pretty good idea to turn a bottle cap into a useful fishing lure. but in term of recycling and suppling the green , you are just producing more and more plastic packages that against the green. So what about using recycle products for the packaging too ?!
Ha great! I did something similar. A few months back I tied a couple scud nymphs out of pocket lint and a candy wrapper. I landed 4 or 5 trout on them. Necessity is the mother of invention. Great job! :)
@camofirekid yes, you will be thrown into jail for 7 years and have the skin flayed off your back on a weekly basis. Keep away from discarded bottle tops.
That's cool but I'm pretty sure that if u caught a big fish the bottle cap would extend to it's limit. Think of ur line or maybe ring, under pressure that's gonna rip it apart slowly as the fish fights.
LOL, u have written that on every video featuring these bottle cap lures, i have watched 3 videos, and on all 3 of them, you have posted that exact same comment...
hey sice they dont sell these in florida can i make these for personal use? i wont sell them i just tend to catch fish that will break my line and i lose the lure so i see this as an awesome alternative!

@SAXD45ACP I agree, might be a shot in the foot for beer companies, I would personaly say my beer tops catch more fish than the other brands. When you purchase something it is yours, if you decide to recycle it like this chap has done, then tough shit for the beer companies. If they endordsed it then people that don't drink would buy beer.
