@gnr1456 first go to programfiles/steam/steamapps/c­ommon/battlefrontii/gamedata and creat the folder addon in gamedata. Then download the installer for the conversion pack and select a custom install when it asks select the battlefront 2 folder and install.

@cheesemasterist No, it doesnt replace everything. It ADDS stuff, you can still play the original maps, but u get to play these also.

I love this mod but in addition to converting the BF1 stages, it also adds new generic jedi characters and extra crap I don't want. I can't turn off these characters in hero assault, for example.

Is there some way to get the old BF1 stages WITHOUT getting any user-created characters and maps along with it? Or at least TURN OFF the extra stuff?

Well I was using the word "crap" in a slang sense of the word, not trying to insult. It's not that the work itself is bad, and I can respect the time and skill it takes to create new skins and characters. It's just that some of us are trying to capture the "pure" Battlefront experience without other characters getting in the mix, and I was looking for a way to bring in the stages without the extra elements. Some people like them, some like plain vanilla, that's all.

You are welcome to play the extra maps in the "Classic Conquest" mode, which is a virtual recreation of the original SWBF1 playstyle. It doesn't add or take away anything from how the maps were played in SWBF1.

There is no option to play them SWBF2 style without any of the additional units. Our website (Gametoast) has a tutorial on how to convert the SWBF1 maps (it isn't a difficult endeavor to do the basics) and you are welcome to do the conversion yourself if you do want to try it vanilla.

I suppose ideally what I was looking for was the ability to play Hero Assault on the BF1 maps but with only BF2 sides, no extra or alternative characters. Basically combine the BF1 experience with the BF2 options and mechanics and nothing else, in other words. Sorry for the dismissive way I explained myself before.

I remember that back in the springtime I tried to register with gametoast but there was some kind of error and I couldn't log on. I'll try again to see that tutorial, and thanks.
