@lydiaespino12 Yes she really was using sign language throughout the whole movie. it's actually rather amazing when you look at this from a psychological and an educator's perspective.

one thing I do love is that these parents do LOVE her- they miss her, but they're not letting parents' love do what it's supposed to...what's best for the child, letting go often involves that. I do understand, that day in age the conception of possibilities was much different. Now it doesn't seem hard to think of deaf/blind person learning, b/c of helen. But still, thank god for the miracle with the water. The parents needed proof or else Anne would've left + Helen would've stayed in the dark.

Oh my gosh, this movie is sooo good! haha i never knew how great it was, i mean I heard about Helen Keller but only small info, and never knew how amazing and emotional this movie was. Is there a book or novel documenting??

Helen's no idiot and neither is the teacher. Annie Sullivan's the one who got through to Helen, taught her to "speak",  and civilized her. The only "idiots" are the parents. The brother's just a smart mouth. I love this movie, btw!
