Can someone tell me the rules for these competitions? Do you get eliminated from the competition the moment your back touches the ground? Or do you keep throwing and gather points?
@XxDho here's a short form. if you land on your back they get a full point, and it's over, but if you land on your side, then it's half a point and you finish the fight with a pin, a armbar or lock, or a choke. Does that help?
Chu Sung Hoon (AKA Akiyama) actually competed in judo as a Korean national but due to internal politics within the Korean Judo federation, he felt that he was being held back because he didn't come from a prestigious University in Korea.
And to play for the Japanese judo team he had to switch his nationality to Japanese.
He was BORN a Korean national because being born in Japan does NOT automatically make you a Japanese citizen.
Rofl go play in the sandbox, akiyama was not even wearing judogi in the fight vs sakuraba. Grease will be absorbed in no time by judo gi, so even if your stupid comment would be right, it would have had no effect
actually...he wore it on the way out to the fight and took it off looking like a grease ball if you actually watched the whole fight you would know this of course and he openly admitted to this and apologized later on and that was of course after this judo match
Your right about the apology, however the Gi was indeed slippery, and that is not fair, so it is not so strange that he apologized for his Gi being slippery, besides Japanese are quite polite (on tv anywayz :P) and maybe he was 'forced' to apologize or whatever. Doesn't mean he did it on purpose though
of course he is a top level competitor and one of the best but in these matches i just dont like the fact that he did that but he is a great judoka and mma fighter as well
he's respectful person. watch the korean show where he explains everything. he is not a complainer, unlike some japanese fighters who didn't show any respect but he did.
because there are retards like you (oscarmooring), thats why he apologized for the fight against sakuraba, not because he actually did anything you swamp donkey

In this championship, Akiyama defeated three opponents from France(this video), Mongolia, and Turkey to reach the semi-finals.
However, ALL THREE opponents claimed samething;
Akiyama had a slippery judogi.
Because of this objection, Akiyama was told to change his Gi, and lost two games in a row (semifinal and 3rd-place match) and missed the medal.

なぜ韓国の人々をそんなに憎むか。 それを乗り越えなさい。 Sakurabaは彼のろばを蹴られて得た。
And it doesn´t make sense to soup a gi. Cloth dont get slippery.

Akiyama did NOT cheat.
He used this lotion to treat his dry GI.

Akiyama gi was taken in and studied afterwarts and was ruled slippery because of humidity and because of the powder it was washed with.
Its easy to say that Akiyama cheated, however in none of those charges he was judged by the research commite 'cheating with intent'.
Yurie1337 3 years ago 2
the thing is that he apologized for the fight...why would he apologize about it when it wasnt true? none of this adds up
