Try starting your handstand with a tripod instead of swinging your legs up--the wall is what is catching you but otherwise you'd just flop over, hence your poor balance when you're up.

Right now, you need the wall. When you begin your handstand, you're flinging your legs up in the air in order to stand, relying on the wall to stop the momentum of your lower body. Without the wall, you would flop onto your back, and it would look cool. You need to increase your strength so that you can balance yourself without using the wall. To do this, I recommend doing dips while handstanding against the wall to increase your arm/shoulder strength.
