I remember when I was a kid there was a Kenmore demo dishwasher at sears with the front glass panel so you could see inside while it was washing, pretty cool when yer a kid!
@proprietary1 I remember that too. I think I stood there for 30 minutes. It was mesmerizing. My dad had to grab me by the arm to get me away from it! Ha ha! I was a sick kid.

My parents had such a dishwasher once. Theirs was a model KD-12P. I guess yours is either a KD-12 or KD-12P. The difference is that if there is a P designation, it is a pump drain model.

Early KitchenAid dishwashers had a stainless steel perforated cup inside the silverware basket that holds the detergent for the wash.
