It's perfect video thanx. It is hard to imagine for me how you can do the procedure of transition from walking to snowoboarding mode in windy and freezing condition on the top of mountian. I'm backcountry skier and it is pretty hard to make transition on skis witch is less complicated than what you showed in video. So on the end my question, has you any experiences in this type of condition whit this equipment ?
@Ikcinasak I'm glad you liked the video. Changing over in bad conditions can be kinda hard, but you get use to it pretty quick. You just have to make sure to keep track of your gear and don't put the board wax side down unless you have a good hold of it. I recommend practicing at home a bunch before you go out in those conditions so you don't fumble with your gear. Once you get pretty good at the whole changeover, you can do it almost as fast as most skiers. I hope this has helped.
@smbrackets We split the board for hiking into the backcountry just like a skier would do. Instead of wearing snowshoes and carrying your board and then carrying your snowshoes back down, you simply split your board, put the skins on and hike up, then take the skins off and put her back together. "Shit is just crazy" if you don't understand why. Go be a damn boarder and then let us know your feelings.
I got mine from Voile and I really like them. I actually don't know who else sells them. But I have done some searching and they seem to be about the same price everywhere so I would just get them from the Voile-USA site. Good luck on your board and let me know if you have any other questions!
I am new to the split board scene. What skins do you reccommend? What are the best out there and what are the best for their price? Let me know about your experience with the skins. Rockin' tutorial! I appreciate it.
Don't use a drill on your screws please...a screwdriver is fine.
