If your interested in a felony, come to SLO! The courts one on day has 3 sheets ful of felonies to process. lawyer heavy, manager heavy......stinks = San Luis Obispo
nice vid -but, 2/3 of this isn't even san luis obispo...theres's no beach in SLO - that's what most people don't realize...san luis obispo is not a beach town, it's a college town that's about 10 miles away from pismo, avila, los osos, etc...monterey is pretty close to the north also...SLO is just a plain little town with some cool shops, great food, and hella bars, and hella college kids running around being cool...i lived in Grover/ AG for quite a while, and know the area...really boring place
im 5th generation here in slo, and ive lived here all my life. im almost 20 and all i can say is, even tho slo is beautiful (we have a ranch on perfumo canyon that has a great view), its boring. theres nothing to do here in slo unless if ur 21. farmers market is pretty cool tho if u dont go every week, and the high school students have a cocky snotty attitude. id say that if u were a visitor ud love this town, but if uve lived here all ur life and barely travel, its pretty boring.
i grew up in slo also I love it and to have land in perfumo are you kiding me? yea the kids act like there shit dont stink but thats all the same. move away and you will see its the best place on earth
Eh, I live in Paso, and I love going to SLO, and like the people a lot better than Paso's crowd. But that's not saying much. I'm a highschool student, and I'm cocky or snotty. The public school system for highschool around here isn't that good at all. The only good thing is Cal Poly and everything related. Stand alone, SLO County is just a wine tourist's paradise.
Thanks for posting this. I used to live in San Luis Obispo in the early 90's. I graduated form Cal Poly and eventually took a job at VAFB. I even bought a home on 11th St in Los Osos across from Sylvester's Hamburgers. I had great times there but I eventually sold my home and moved in 2002. Thanks for the memories. I won't be going back anytime soon. So long SLO. Farewell, Big Sur and PCH. Good bye, California.
I still miss that place even the long drive down the coast. perfect clip of shooting through the eucalyptus grove(my fav). Its about that time for a pilgrimage down that way. love that small town feel, yet so full of energy. one of those last honest places.
quick question do you have the title and artist on that first track? i dig that old stuff.
How beautiful I lived in Los Osos when I was a child for three years it is a great place to be a kid way better then L.A my aunt lives there still so I visit from time to time I love it
Dallas TX. This video is breathtaking! Brings almost tears and puts a lump in my throat. excellent video edit/music (is that first song Portugeuse?) It is like visiting SLO County without the sad realization that it can never be the same as we remember it.
I just returned from a week in SLO where I was raised! It was a wonderful homecoming and I enjoyed every minute, one of these days I'll go back and stay.
SLO yes its situated in a picturesque landscape. Ppl there are boring though. Lots of yuppies and small minded beer swilling hateful prejudiced homophobic thick necked jocks who generally make life miserable for anyone not like them. But it is scenic.
Were not boring, don't hang with the students. Please don't judge us on people that are not residents. Also, we have one of the largest gay communities in california. Please come visit Downtown Brew and we'll show you what SLO hospitality is all about. B
LOL. I'm from SLO!!! Lived there my whole life. Went to Arroyo Grande high though.lol. I love that area, but I moved to Portland, Or for college. =-< miss my home!
i live in los angeles and i went to Angel Gate Academy in san luis obispo..i have to say that whenever i get a car i will return...i liked it more than santa barbara..if someone knows about angel gate acdemy send me a message!!
I love living in SLO. So much beauty. Great video. Though I was expecting to watch the roadtrip from SF to SLO, but I like how you showed your thoughts along the roadtrip, instead of the just the road.
I used to live in SLO county. Owned a home in Los Osos. Went to school at Cal Poly, SLO. Farmer's Market on Thursday nights, Sylvester's Burgers, SLO-Brew, Avila Beach, Mardi Gras, Poly Dollies, Cuesta Bestas, man, that was the life.
It's pretty much all gone now because of the Cal Poly Frat Brats. No more Poly Royal, no more Mardi Gras, no more La Fiesta Parade and looks like we're going to lose Farmers Market also due to the vandalism and drunks (ALL Cal Poly Students).
I suspect you're right. We lost Poly Royal because of that stupid riot that took place. Also, the "new" Cal Poly taint my school no mo'. It's been "yuppified" like the rest of the Central Coast. As I said before, that WAS the life.
I left my heart in SLO too. It is really cool, bc everywhere you were in this vid is familiar to me. I just thought it was pretty cool how our stories are kinda similar.
My heart is in SLO too. It's funny, bc I pretty much knew where you where the whole time with the pics and the film. It was really cool that I could relate my story to your story. This post is the best I have seen.
What a wonderful valentine to the Central Coast. I lived for 10 years in Shell Beach, and this highlighted so many of the giftls of that time.

I was there when they had the riot in the late 80's the riot that involved mucho people and mucho police departments.
It was kinda eery and amusing all at the same time.
Santana had been giving a concert at Poly that night and when I walked outside I saw helicopters flying overhead.
