Just bought a greatest hits a couple of months ago of Charlie Rich and have so enjoyed the memories and what a voice he had. Saw him once in Memphis and he was a great artist. He's right up there with Elvis. Also love "Most Beautiful girl in the World, A very special love song and " A Field of Yellow Daisies". Thanks Charlie for some of my greatest memories (and alot of tears)
I was listening to this song the other day and it hit me like a freight train, especially at the end when he repeats "and I ain't ever growing old". I know it's just a simple pop country tune but that seemed to capture such a bittersweet sentiment. I'm 24 and I'm already refusing to get old.
It's amazing that I first heard this when I was a DJ at a country music radio station in Kentucky when it first came out and it still speaks to me as it did then. The music, the lyrics and Charlie's voice that makes this song come alive.
From "Lonely Weekends" to "Rollin' With the Flow" and beyond-Charlie Rich had a Hall of Fame career capped by "Rollin'" -his anthem for a lifestyle purposely pursued by only a few. His best.
I have such a wide range of music that I like from extremes of all genres...and this song is so great! I know it was made long before I was born and I normally listen to Beyonce', Jay Z, Taylor, E.S. Posthumus, the Coors and so many others...but this one just touches me...
and I hope I can be just like this song in my life, no matter how long my life turns out to be.
I just want to keep on rollin with the flow.
Don't want to hurt anyone and I just want to get along. Should be simple, huh?
Yes Jesus still loves me too.I raised some kids and sad to say my 6 year old drowned while on a picnic at the Albert River.I was devastated and still am about that after so long. This song helps as we all must roll with the flow.
I always think of a certain person when I hear this song. He has a lot of crazy friends! His birthday is, today. He may be older, but he'll never be old! Great video, thanks for posting!
Hi - I'm trying to buy this track but Charlie recorded several versions at I only get 20sec free listen. Which album is this posted version from (I think its the best). Thanks
He is saying, "while guys my age are raisin kids, I'm raising hell just like I did."
I know how hard it can be to decipher what some singers are saying. If you close your eyes while you listen, sometimes it is easier to hear..don't know whjy that is.
Ps I changed the title because I don't know if WMG owns this or not and they have yanked about 16 of my videos in the past two or three weeks. Don't know if it will save it or not but figured it was worth a shot.
I agree, I'm not a big fan of country music, but this song is just so good it passes beyond the 'country feel' to one of the very best songs I enjoy listening to. Thank so very much for posting this classic. You are a champion.
omg i just listened to the new rolling with the flow. YUCK!! Wish the new singers would write there own, leave the classics to the real singers. This song is best with Charlie Rich. Great song

Charlie Rich was a jazz musician before he went into country..maybe there is a good mix there that gives his music that sound that appeals to many.
