As an advocate for victims of relationship abuse, I would like to thank you for posting. Most people do not recognize when a "close" mutually consensual relationship crosses over to more a master/server one. Teenage males who treat girlfriends like this, without anyone calling them on it, often, (not always) grow into full fledged grown up batterers. Let us all CHOOSE RESPECT for one another. Peace to ALL.
@hemptrue - Yes, HEMPTRUE, you are right. Both genders practice emotional abuse & it's not any more acceptable when females are the perpetrators. I'm an Abuse Counselor & I wish this behavior was noticed & stopped right in its early tracks. The other problem is that some teens don't know what a Healthy Relationship even looks like; something which could be remedied with education. Thank you for your respectful post. Peace to All.
I don't intend to be like the guy in the cell phone costume, but I'm always nervous that I may end up like him. It happened to me before... a long time ago.
@bigwigs88 - Hello. I've been busy, just got a chance to screen this again. Found your "lol" note under my comment. No adversarial intent here: what are you "laughing out loud" about, exactly? Just trying to understand. Just asking, gently. Peace to ALL.
@bigwigs88 - Good morning. Thank you for your courteous reply. It's unclear to me, also, how these comments get placed in the order they do. Anyway, Have A Good Day. Peace to You and ALL.
This hits close to home for me. I know I've been guilty of being a text monster, but it definitely goes both ways. That's what makes this video an offense against men. It would be better if they showed a female doing that to a male too. Make it fair. And what about the girl in the video. She NEVER responds to him? Most people don't act like that arbitrarily. I do agree that there is a line that borders harassment... But I don't think that this video gives a fair impression.
i'm gonna tell you about my situation. I met this one girl off of a school buddy on myspace and she said she wanted to date me so i figured a date can't be a crime so we decided to go on a date and she kept texting me like the giant cellphone did and she still does, and we aren't even boyfriend girlfriend yet.
Wow. This reminds me of my BF now..Ever since i started college..he constantly text me. I kno he loves me but I also have a life for me to live, and he gets mad some nights wen i'm not able to talk. Any advice?
I have lived this. Despite repeated assertions to stop. It's not fun.
It's a warning sign of behavior that often leads to abuse of one kind or another. A normal person will stop when asked. An abusive person will not respect boundaries and continue.
it's good but it fails to mention one necessary element, a lot of times people wont have the intention to bother someone, they simply wont know that they are doing somthing too much or obsessively, so the victim needs to respond and say directly that it is bothering them one example is "dial it down, I know you care but this is just too much", if they do not do this, the person being obsessive may think that what they are doing is okay, since they don't think they are bothering someone.
This is exactly what my best friend does...

though this is not always true, one should still tell someone, BEFORE they go to an authority figure or end a relationship.
