I saw him supporting Marillion, didnt appreciate him at the time, as Marillion live were just mindblowing back then and everything else got forgotten.
Now I look back and wish I had paid more attention...

Those were the years of "an artist must eat" ("Skin"'s inner french sleeve) so Hammill used to sing on (mostly italian) TV shows ballads like this one and "Just good friends".

I think he was supporting the original Marillion line-up in 83.I saw him/them at Liverpool's Royal Court theatre.Brilliant artists.
