  • This video proves nothing about fishing with the line

  • @5tonyvvvv andeline is the worst line on earth, its extremely thick, it curls up because of the memory, and it casts horribly, the best mpno on earth is stren original clear blue, and the best braid is daiwa samuria, its the thinnest the strongest

  • power pro was the thinest that is why it broke so soon, fireline is extremely thick, and sufix is preety thick two

  • @curtgowdysharkhunter ha power pro the thinnest. please the 50lb is line a rope. the guy is right. all braids will not last against a rock compared to mono. even though braided line can straighten out a hook still dont meen it will hold up against a fish pulling it over a rock countless times while fighting them

  • Braid is good, just don't fish it around hard cover. Soft cover like vegetation and depth is where it stands out.

  • power pro is waaayyy betterrr

  • I have used fireline for years and i think it is the best line on the market because it is good for pretty much anything.

  • i didnt learn nothin

  • Used both Ande and Power Pro and both have worked great for me. If you get caught in the mangroves with that power pro tho, ur not gonna break that line off except for at the leader maybe lol on the other hand, Ande is definitely my pick for mono

  • some of braid advantages

    1. more thinner diameter vs breaking strengh, try to pull wich one goes off first 0.40mm braid lines, or 0.40mm monolines

    2. no lines memory that only will got u with the mono lines, not the braid

    some disadvantades

    1. yes off course it`s more weak against the rock sharp side not like the mono, because they made of braid, mono line can handle it better than braid

    2. the braid have a colour that will make fish notice ur line

so choose wich one u want to head off

  • spiderwire camo braid is the bomb

  • 100 lb braid has the equivalent diameter of 20 lb Ande... very flawed test... diameter is the biggest determining factor to wear... plain and simple it takes longer to go through more thickness. I still think mono and especially fluoro has better abrasion resistance than braids but make it somewhat similar!

  • Is there a 500 pound line? What is the maximum? Etc.

  • @mQtek long line fisherman use huge spools of 500+ pound mono those things are diesel

  • Great job fellas, have you tried it with a wet rock?

  • Well out of the braids the fireline did the best sense it was 20lbs weaker than the sufix

  • do same test with the braid and mono of the same diameter..braid would win...mono at pound test is stronger,yes..but at the same diameter braid wins..

  • i preferto use braid for casting and monofor a shock leader.

  • they are not in the same diameter n ligue dude..this the stupidest test iv ever seen

  • when fishing for flathead catfish you often deal with structure that can break you off in a hurry

  • *realistic

  • you're comparing the strength of the lines rubbing against a rock??!! we're fishing fish.. not rocks!! and how often does the line goes rubbing against a rock i seldom experience fishing in open ocean. also whether mono or braided lines are not tested that way.. why not use a car and pull the lines to see how strong they are instead? more releastic..

  • @teddycesu they are using freshwater line. In fresh water we rub rocks all the time.

  • ow.. fresh water.. i see. ok. tq

  • good work guys, keep it up......

  • Yes, the Ande Backcountry is tough. Since it is 30 pound, the other braids are thinner. 50 lb. (.014 in) (.36 mm) power pro is only equivalent to 12 pound monofilament in diameter. It would take 150 lb Power Pro - (Diameter 0.022") to be equal in diameter to 30 lb. mono.

  • POWER PRO RULESSSSS

  • ande backcountry is good line for small fish

  • notin beats power pro

  • ya but only if ur fishing for muskey like me i use 65 ponnd test for my muskey baitcast but i use 20 pound powerpro for my bass baitcaster!

power pro is the best braided line out there! 50 inch 46 lbs muskey!woot woot

  • 50lb powerpro all of the way!!

    no other way to go

  • power pro is the way to go...u will bend ur hook before ur line breaks

  • @mmam0nster true but ande line is the strongest line on earth.i havr caught tuna wahoo and marlin using ande.rapala knot or bimini twist never fails man..for braid double palomor knot

  • @mmam0nster

power pro is soo over rated its not funny! its shit! i have had ebay braid hold up better than that shit that soooo many people told me to get,, your all just power pro fanboys

  • @mmam0nster no shit to that.. i straightend out many hooks on 80lbs power pro..think its 17lbs diameter..not sure.

  • this is why I am a mono fan, I do fish some braid though, power pro and fireline, and spider wire,, and I don't have any complaints

  • Nah ShadowStrike is blatently the best! Thin as fuck and strong to boot! Once you fish with the Shadow you never go back!

  • Flurocarbon for rocks thats what it is made for more resistant to abrasion than normal mono. Mono is old shit and once you fish with braid you never go back. Bleh to stretchy mono. Its like anything in life you get what you pay for. Even 4wd winch cable these days comes in Braid. Now thats saying something

  • I'm totally sold on Mustard Ultra Braid. Thinner diameter than standard braid and it is flawless :D

  • SPIDERWIRE ALL THE WAY

  • I think you should improve the test by making them all one line lb. like for example maybe make them all 30 lb

    thx

  • try casting for distance which goes farther...braid. Try pulling without touching anything see which is stronger...braid. The only reason braid gets cut easy with rocks because its not plastic like regular mono lines, but i tell you a dirty dirty secret many doesn't know about mono, when fish pulls hard and the drag is screaming and your reel is hot, that mono is going to burn melt! trust me on this one. and braid last longer too, mono...you change like every year, and mono kinds and twist alot.

  • well for mono u kinda have to break it in wen i first got it i thought it was shit.but i casted it out about 5 times and it started to work my way.

  • actually mono works best when you first get it brand new...its more flimsy and and smoother, once the water start digging into your mono, its going to stiff up...thats most of the reason why i never like mono much...i tried almost all the mono i can find out there...sufix, p-line, maxima, stren, vanish, calcutta, ande, yo zuri, gary yamamoto, cajun red line, all the rapala, trilene and some others i can't think of...for mono p-line out performs all, except the yo zuri hybrid...i still like braid

  • Berkley Vanish is a flourocarbon

  • Everything that you have said is correct and makes a whole lot of sense, but are you sure the mono line will start to melt after the reel has been screaming for a while? hard to believe cause I have never seen it, but then again you probably have one hell of a unique story to tell if you have seen mono line melt. I have used braided for over a year and I have landed over a total of 1,000 pounds of fish in various combination, mono is so much more of a pain in the ass then braided. I agree

  • i think braid is a waist of money, its like 20 sumtin bucks, and the one spool ones are like 15 bucks with mono u can get like 1000 yards for like 10 bucks! idc wat anybody else thinks mono is just as good!

  • you see how hard his knuckles hit the counter when he tested the fireline that means he was pulling it across the counter really hard

  • Power pro..Power pro...Power pro. Suffix is so much beter!!

  • i think this test is rigged i currently have fireline on my reels its strong stuff the only way to find out is by trying this test yourself i did and fireline is very hard 2 break

  • i agree power pro rules. theres no way 20lb ande can be tat much better that it

  • first of all your using different lb test..does tht make any sense! second, you know how easily you could of played this test. put twice as much pressure on power pro. and less on that backcountry. i highly doubt theres any mono stronger that power pro

  • Mono pwns, thanks for the vid!

  • Holy &@^% I appreciate this video. Not to say that braid isnt a good option for fishing (many anglers defend that it is the best choice for most if not all fishing situations), but I still prefer to use mono. Its stealthy, shock absorbing, doesnt destroy your rod guides or roller bearings on the reel, it gives a bit of stretch in a fight for safety reasons and its reasonably priced. This video is suprising proof that braid ISNT always the leading line! Thanks

  • why put them to the test if there not the same lb

  • powerpro es the best fishing line for casting. more sensitive, longer cast, eazyer to get snags out, les risistence to water. but if you pull to hard back on a bite you lose fish, it can cut youre skin very easly, and itll breack with rock friccion but only if you are troleing. i fish snook on very rocky areas and never had any problems. for troleing ande 30 is mi favoret.

  • Never even come close to a problem like that with ppro and for cats I fish some NASTY spots.

  • Really? I used to use ppro on my surf rod and edleast once a vist I would break the line.

  • Just stopped using powerpro for same reason.
