@XitemeM I didnt, mine works completely fine. Xbox Support, like many other support websites, isnt good at all, in my personal opinion. When I need to find something, the first place I go to is youtube, and see if i can find a reliable video, which its easy to tell what is and isnt a reliable video. What they post on xbox support is half assed at best.

The closest thing I come to finding a IP address for my Xbox is the system info and that is in consol settings.

This would work but i have just found another way switch your LAN to public (use public I.P. address) then switch it back when your not playing.

This will open your NAT to anything using those ports, which are mostly found in Wii's PS3's and Xbox's. A laptop will most likely work as well, but it may also need other ports to be opened depending on the certain laptop. Exactly what do you need it opened for?

It may your connection, or just the server that day had so many people on it that it lagged. Sorry for late reply, just got my computer back up and running. If you have a decent internet (not dail-up) than you shouldnt lag if you have good connection. It could also be people in the match that are making you lag because they have a wal-mart connection

Hey, sorry for late reply, I just got my computer up and running. This will work for the PS3, if you need to you can change what Application Name you name it, but it doesnt really matter, the application name is ment to be if you have multiple of these opened ports to be able to tell which is for which device, or for what reason. It has nothing to do with the firewall on your computer, but rather your router. This video opens your router to your xbox 360

Xbox 360s cannot get a virus, while this firewall is only for your router. So, technically yes, if you have no protection on your computer, but I've had the ports open for a while and never so much as had a warner. Chances are extremely slim, even without software.

Great tutorial but it is a little different for a NETGEAR router wich is what i have. So ill help people out and just tell them.

For a NETGEAR routher the login might me

Username: admin

Password: password

And the tab we want is on the left. under Port Forwarding/ Port Triggering. Click on "Add Custon Service" and then just follow the rest of this vid. and ryan if u see this i am BaliztikChaos on xbox as well

here's two things i do when the happens:

1. Unplug my broadband box for 30 seconds.

2. If that doesn't work Unplug the wireless router on the back of your xbox.

At least one of these works for me when it happens.

I had to play about a bit with mine and i found out that sky's default inbound firewall settings are block all so i changed that and it was fine from there.

If you dont know BT's IP then search it and log onto that. After that, go on your firewall settings and make it so it allows all. That's what i done with sky and it was fine after.

Not necessarily, but it is one of the best ways to do it, and it's definetly the cheapest. You can buy a new router, switch to more expencive cable, exedra, but this is free and is easy to do as long as you follow the steps.

Aright, first off a lot of lag could be just bad luck. To check and see if you have "strict firewall settings" go to the Multiplayer section on Gears 2. After that, I wantto change from Public to Private (or vise versa). Does anything pop up? If not, than you do not have strict firewall.. but if something does IT WILL BE OBVIOUS.. Still try, it shouldn't hurt your computer as long as you go along with the video.

my password was changed to fit what I wanted it to. Your password should be Admin (if you are using a Linksys Router) but if you are using a Netgear the username will be Admin and password - password

Yes, it is usually 100, unless you created a personal one for your own reason. Mine has never changed, so it is 100. Try it out, and see how it works!
