That was was a set up like the perfect storm. While they were mired on ESPN Classic in Japan at 3AM, the series was setting up for it's Long Beach Grand Prix and they wanted to make a splash as the series just bought out Champ Car. The race was perfect to conduct without many eyes. They told her to drop back 17 seconds off the pace and she would certainly win. Poor Helio had no clue anyone would have fuel in the end. He just pulled over thinking she was a lap down. Nothing uncommon there.

The Honda F1 Team have said that after danica's great performance she has earned her self an F1 test drive for the team which will take place in winter F1 testing for the 2009 F1 Season.

Me gusta tanto la Fórmula 1 como la Indy. Pero son dos categorías que no se pueden comparar diciendo que una es mejor que la otra. Simplemente son dos modalidades con una filosofía y un modo de correr distinto. La Indy también corre en circuitos ruteros del estilo de la F1 y no se ven salir rectos. No se puede decir que una modalidad es mejor que otra por la tecnología. Sin ir más lejos, puedes ver que la Fórmula 1 era mucho más emocionante en los 80 y principios de los 90 que actualmente.

La tecnología puede llegar a quitar espectacularidad. Fíjate que cuando se prohibieron los neumáticos lisos en F1 todos los pilotos se quejaron de que las posibilidades de adelantar se habían reducido drásticamente y eso estaba quitando espectacularidad al deporte. Eso es porque antiguamente en la F1 la tecnología se utilizaba para conseguir prestaciones puras y hoy tiene como máxima la seguridad. En la fórmula Indy creo que se sigue dando más importancia a las prestaciones y a

De hecho, siguen utilizando la tecnología de los F1 de los años 80(efecto suelo, cambio manual, etc).Eso no quita que sean más lentos que un F1, eso si que es verdad, pero no por ello es menos emocionante.Han habido grandes campeones en F1 que han sido grandes campeones en Indy y viceversa(Villeneuve, Fittipaldi, Andretti, Graham Hill, etc).En resumen, es una tontería criticar o comparar dejando en mal lugar a una categoría respecto a otra.Son diferentes.
