There is no "real" or "fake" here. That view is to be considered obsolete. After all, even if his voice does sound slightly different from the original, it does not make the character "not real".

Recasts are a necessary evil in order to keep alive characters that are going to outlive every human being on this planet.

@disneyphilip yes I partly agree. But it most be well done and respect all what the character is. By example, Eric Jacobson is excellent with Grover. So much that it is very difficult to see the difference with Frank Oz. It's not the same with cookie. I can enjoy the new Grover the same as the old Grover. It's not the same with the new Cookie Monster. This was my point.
