Btw... hey... you're using a PC. Guess you have to be quiet about that around your friends. Because let's face it, PC's aren't guns, and I'll bet your friends think you gay for being in front of a PC, when you could be hunting deer.
How about we turn a song into hateful politics? Interesting, since it was earlybird776 who brought up politics himself, yet you said nothing to him about it, now did you, sir? That tells me one thing: You disagree with my own "political" comments, which is fine and dandy, but at least respond with something more logical next time...
@DerrickthePinecone. Glad to hear that I brought humour into your life. It's a powerful remedy to deflate people who think they know best.
Angry, no. Annoyed, yes. I read earlybird776 as a nostalgic look back at a great event, not a political statement. I'm just so tired of seeing people like you turning everything into political mud throwing. I really hope that your last half of your original post was an attempt at humour, and that you're not that brainwashed by Fox News.
@SolarMichael Part 1: Oh, but there's humor always in my life! Joy is far different than happiness, I might add! But, nevertheless, you shouldn't let something as simple as what I said get under your skin--life is too short. Political emblems are everywhere in our culture/world; do you tend to be annoyed everywhere that you go? Fox, CNN, MSNBC, etc. are all controlled by The World Bank in Geneva, Switzerland. I'm not within that paradigm prism like most are, thankfully.
@SolarMichael Part 2: Obama is nothing more than a globalist/puppet of the Fed. Reserve & that's a fact. Just ask Kissinger. I'm a Constitutionalist. It's a sad world when the Obama zombies are still salivating over him, just hum-drumming along. I've been out of the left/right paradigm prism for years after discovering truth. None of the GOP candidates are worthy, except Ron Paul. Gingrich is a globalist & so is Romney. I could split hairs here, but I think you get the point.

Paul Simon gave this song to Elvis and called it better than the original.... Well I love Paul, but dude you need a realilty check!! Art totally nails this song! BTW Please come to Europe!!
I was watching this concert and wrapping christmas presents when I got a call from my Mom and found out my Brother just died, and this song will forever resonate so very deeply with me. Sad, haunting and comforting all at the same time.
One if not the best song ever been written. Never tired of listening to it over and over again. I have shared this video with my friends in facebook. Thanks ever so much KarmicOmen for posting it. Greetings. Fabrizia from Rome.
On this date in 1970 {Feb. 7th} "Bridge Over Troubled Water" entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 charts; on February 28th it would peak at No. 1 {for 6 weeks} and spent a total of 14 in the Top 100...
Two other versions of this record have also charted: Arteha Franklin's version reached No. 6 in 1971 while Linda Clifford topped out at No. 41 in 1979.
Paul Simon has been quoted as saying that the best version he ever heard of this song was by Elvis Presley...
You can just see Art wants this...its really rare when you can produce when you want something that bad. Unreal performace after not doing it in over a decade.
First heard this wonderful song 25 years ago and it has stayed with me through many ups and downs in my life. Remember you are never alone eventhough you may feel you are. Friends forever 43 Nev.
I LOVE this guy - his voice is pure and definitely one of a kind. I agree with MrsRobinson4646 above - one guy, a voice, a mike and low keyed music and it just blows you away with the beauty of it all. Today's so called "singers" should take a long hard look at what great singing really is. They will be forgotten in no time at all - while, we're still hearing Simon & Garfunkel songs 40 odd years on and they're still classics. Good music never dies.
Absolutely gives me shivers down my spine; what a beautiful voice Art has. And to carry this song on his own, with no orchestral backing; just phenomenal.
@UpstairsMaid I literally have never replied to anything on Youtube, ever. But I just wanted to say " Are you ok?" I'm not even a religious dude or anything. I just figured I would at least once, in my life, reach out to someone and ask "hows it going? is there anything I could help you with?"
@Reacherbert 43 years of type 1 diabetes has taken a toll, I've been through dialysis, double organ transplant (kidney pancreas), two heart attacks, organ rejection, graft failiure (the pancreas) and now the kidney, the immunosuppressants have landed me in the icu 11 times in 7 years for pneumonia and now water on the lungs has robbed me of working. I've tried to stay positive - but somedays it's hard. Thank you for your kind thoughts and words.
But where is the ever YouTube song...? The ever deep song that was called over 10 million views back in 2009? I have seen the original song, for me the BEST song ever! 1970...This this Art Garfunkel was to me in 1980 a great reunion to (Paul Simon = what did he then?)....He was the best, sorry Paul but Art, his voice in this was really incredibly than your's...We have it all at the Law Lands at Europe........
@thothemighty funny, i thought it was about friendship... since i'm not religious, your idea has never crossed my mind, and considering the fact that paul simon is jewish i find it rather doubtful. goes to show we find our own meaning, based on our own experiences :)
No smoke, no lights, no snakes, no backup dancers, no ear piece, no screen, no exposing almost all of his body, no sailing through the air. Just one microphone, one humble man, baring his soul, hands in pockets, shy smiles . . . this is art at it's best and Art at his best. All these years later he is STILL the most perfect performer the world has ever had the great pleasure of listening to. I loved him then, I love him still. What a man!!!
@MrsRobinson4646 you are absolutely correct! With good content/talent, smoke and mirrors aren't needed. I was at this concert, pretty far from the stage but the acoustics were decent so i enjoyed the concert. I got here after skimming across numerous versions by various artists and choirs but few even come close to Arts performance.
I didn't see them in Central Park but I was fortunate enough to see them perform the same "reunion show" in Foxborough that year. Hearing Art Garfunkel sing that song, casually standing with his hands in the pockets of his jeans, was one of the most moving moments of my life. And I've had a pretty good life! Paul wrote this song for him and he nailed it every time he sang it in public. Thanks for letting us see it!
@bazzatheblue You must be a Bieberfag. If your new to good music, such as this, I advise you to check out Eric Clapton, Queen, The Beatles and so on. You will release looks and good music is urelated:)
@verdtdet i`m 43 ,i have no idea what a bieberfag is.i think claptons ok,a touch overrated maybe.the Beatles are before my time but being English have had to listen to them ad nauseum on radio for most of my life.I am an eighties man myself. As for Queen ,no comment.Your taste in music, predictable. No offence.
@bazzatheblue You are English and the Beatles make you nauseous ? How can you be so ignorant? The Beatles changed the entire worlds taste in music. People will be listening to Beatles music 100 years from now while most artist of today will be forgotten. Many people here in the "Colonies" have been grooving to the Beatles since 1964. Yesterday.... written by Sir Paul MaCratney, is the most played song in the history of the world.
@spacecowboy7580 well fuckwit if you didnt begin by sending me a message out of the blue asking if i was stupid or drunk i wouldnt have sent you anything vile in return eh , cunthead.?!Now go and fuck off ,i already banned you.
Vile...a very apt word...judging by your replies I suspect you've been called that many times in your sad little life. " fuckwit...cunthead...fuck off "....did you ever think of expanding your very limited vocabulary?
@spacecowboy7580 you just get under my skin,i shouldnt be indulging in this kind of thing, its childish,i am going down to your level,i will make this my last message to you as you just enrage me,i loathe you and i dont even know you.If you reply to this make it your last comment pls.
@spacecowboy7580 i realise i have been nasty to you,but you said shit to me also,so lets call it quits,or else we will both end up getting each other banned.
This is just an amazing song... a mean a lot of them are, but I could listen to this song all day and relax... good vibes coming out of this....

I was at this concert, pretty far from the stage but the acoustics were decent so i enjoyed the concert. I got here after skimming across numerous versions by various artists and choirs but few even come close to Arts performance.

Except for one small mistake in the lyrics...a very good performance.

You will release looks and good music is urelated:)
verdtdet 1 month ago 2
@verdtdet i`m 43 ,i have no idea what a bieberfag is.i think claptons ok,a touch overrated maybe.the Beatles are before my time but being English have had to listen to them ad nauseum on radio for most of my life.I am an eighties man myself. As for Queen ,no comment.Your taste in music, predictable. No offence.
bazzatheblue 1 month ago
@bazzatheblue You are English and the Beatles make you nauseous ? How can you be so ignorant? The Beatles changed the entire worlds taste in music. People will be listening to Beatles music 100 years from now while most artist of today will be forgotten. Many people here in the "Colonies" have been grooving to the Beatles since 1964. Yesterday.... written by Sir Paul MaCratney, is the most played song in the history of the world.
