  • Superbe voix! Et expressive!

  • Can you imagine a world without Simon & Garfunkel? No way man. Love these guys.

  • I am glad they are a part of my life. Makes it coplete.

  • Amazing

  • I love how the audience shuts the heck up, when they realize Artie is doing this song and they want to make sure they don't miss it. So much respect, too.

    Love ya, Art!

  • I Wouldn't Forget Them! It's a LassieSongUSA!

  • Dear Neighbor

Please stop cutting onion when I'm listening to the music.

    Regards

  • Cannot be bettered, from the begining to the end it just rocks, Ace, had my first to this also.

  • thats true !

  • I love you, Ma -- You were my bridge over troubled waters, and I hope you can hear this, your favorite, song whereever you are now.

  • what a voice...and such a glorious song <3 :')

  • GREAT JUST GREAT.... MAKES ME CRY EVERYTIME I LISTEN TO IT.

  • I don't know why...but I'm almost tearing up right now. This is such a beautiful song, that's why. It's so pure.

  • My little old teeny crush just popped up again...sweet!

  • It's All in his Voice!..:-)

  • Very few voices can touch ones soul...the way his does. Well done

  • ive been a fan of s&g for decades, but ive only just realized how beautiful arts voice is

  • its quite hymn like

  • I last saw my father when i was 12, this always reminds me of him and forever will.

  • My mom had this song played at my brothers funeral , it always makes me cry

  • Cowel knows sshit about music hes a f,ing money grabbing tosser

  • @jackshit6 correct my friend !!

  • Used to love this song untill Simon Cowell and his band of rejects murdered it. Sacriledge!

  • My all-time favourite song...And an absolutely amazing singer...

  • 62 people pushed the wrong button:)

  • How can it be so effortless for anyone to make the sounds he does. It just slays me...

  • I've always loved this beautiful song. Something I didn't realize at the time was how cute Art Garfunkle was!

  • 62 people are drowning in troubled waters lol

  • Art shows the new generation that there is no need to run around or jump up and down the stage to make a show. Just standing behind his mike with his hands behind his back and the show comes out of the sound of his voice. Wonderful voice.

  • @Binnenu4 I agree and disagree. There IS a need to run and jump. It's to distract the audience from the fact that today's "talent" actually has none. It's to distract the audience from realizing that they spent $50 on a performer that hides a voice behind technology and only got where he/she is at today because of the disambiguation of the standard of quality that Garfunkel, Sinatra, Armstrong, and the like so well established and Ke$ha, Lil' Jon, and other so-called musicians nullified.

  • This is just an amazing song... a mean a lot of them are, but I could listen to this song all day and relax... good vibes coming out of this....

  • There's no one today that can perform with only a microphone and a pair of jeans to a crowd of 500,000 people and be this mesmerizing!

  • #50(Tie)

  • Dit is echt zoooooo goed. Dit beseft men echter pas achteraf.

Er zijn een aantal keren dat ik wilde dat ik erbij was. De Berlijnse muur met Pink Floyd was er een van. En dit. Waardeloos pianospel overigens.

  • Very relaxing, amazingly good, such a beautiful voice!

  • Bridge over troubed water or Unchained Melody? I can't decide between the two

  • ART

  • POstei? Qual o problema?

  • Diante da insignificancia da vida, só a arte vale a pena de viver. BLZ!!!

  • Tornou minha vida melhor com a sua voz maravilhosa!

  • Arthur Garfunkel. Genio, Um abração!!!

  • he is so beautiful

  • I knew S&G had sold out to "the man" when they recorded this pathetic rubbish. Compare this snoozefest to "America" or "I Am A Rock" ffs !!

  • this is great

  • best. ever.

  • sweet version, but to say no one compares is ridiculous. Try Roberta Flack just for one. Annie Lennox, Whitney Houston and even Clay Aiken's versions are better than this.

  • @winsome1235 fun thing to say m8 THIS IS LIFE the versions u mean are not

  • @winsome1235 Actually Elvis blows them all away with his gospel version, the power just cannot be beaten

  • @DaviesSpectrum I don't care for the gospel version(s), including Paul Simon's. I prefer it sung "straight" as only (it seems) Art Garfunkel can do it. (Just a preference!)

  • for all the kind thoughts and prayers - thank you.

  • THANK YOU GUYS!!! BEAUTIFUL SONG!!!!

  • Art has the voice of an angel.

  • no one. i repeat: NO ONE can be compared to this man. his voice is indescribable. he is Mr. Perfect.

  • I love his hair!

  • @upolu1warrior seriously?????? Its by far THE BEST!!!!! It was written for his soft tenor voice. It will always be the best

  • im 13 and i love this song. i cant stand the crap that goes on the radio. This song actually has meaning other than those song telling the dj to turn up the music

  • i cant believe ive lived for 19 years and havent seen this video. this is nostalgic. absolutely amazing

  • I wasn't even born when this was performed; I consider myself privileged to see Art perform so passionately.

  • Marvelous the best song deep and nice.

  • Very nostalgic thoughts I think while listening to this.

  • OMG!! the best he is the original...so many new versions but nothing beats Simon and Garfungkel.

  • Right on! This is an awesome sung. It was sung with so much passion and written with the same.

  • Simon and Garfunkel.... i need you back... The WORLD needs you back!!!

  • Hello, 57 idiots.

  • almost as good as elvis

  • I need a bridge.

  • @Djhazmattic712 I am praying for you... hope you find that bridge

  • greatest song ever

  • One of the few songs that make me shiver every time !!

  • there are some (not too many) songs about which you may wish they would never end. for me this is definitely one of those.

  • It's so great to see someone who sounded just as good live as he did in the studio; though I suspect that was more common 30 years ago than it is now.

  • LEGENDARY

  • i love how he just stands there when he sings with his hands in his pockets like its no big deal that he sounds like an angel

  • Amazing!

  • Such a beautiful song. Sung so beautifully!!!!!!

  • You know when your in the presence of a Legend , when at the first note of his voice , thousands of people go quiet and just experiance the moment.

  • Such an amazing voice.

  • U can tell that was a huge moment for him

  • think that was the late billy preston on the keys.

  • there is not a human being alive that can sing that song like Art Garfunkel.

  • Wonderful song and performance !!! Phalaïna

  • Art, we miss your angelic vocal contribution. No one in my recollection had the concise

vocal purity to compare to yours.

  • That was pure euphoric times - One of the best thrilling times to be living in NY City - This free concert was all about the revival of America (early day of Reagan). I had just made it to Central Park by 6am on Saturday before the concert started - The filled up with a sea of people and by 3pm the cops closed out most of the entrances to CP. In those days NYC was still throwing Rock concert for free in Central Park - Mayor M. Koch made a brief intro. and the night had just gotten younger.

  • @earlybird776 They should do one more of these free concerts. Instead, this time, perhaps it could be a Revolution to get the 'red weeds' out of The White House! Obama needs to go; Pelosi, etc. all of them. Weed 'em out! Death to oppressive Liberalism, Socialism and Communism!

  • @DerrickthePinecone. Yeah, let's turn a song about friendship into a discussion about hateful politics!

Btw... hey... you're using a PC. Guess you have to be quiet about that around your friends. Because let's face it, PC's aren't guns, and I'll bet your friends think you gay for being in front of a PC, when you could be hunting deer.

  • @SolarMichael Ha! Someone sounds angry...Anggggrrrrryyyyyyy. Hilarious.

How about we turn a song into hateful politics? Interesting, since it was earlybird776 who brought up politics himself, yet you said nothing to him about it, now did you, sir? That tells me one thing: You disagree with my own "political" comments, which is fine and dandy, but at least respond with something more logical next time...

  • @DerrickthePinecone. Glad to hear that I brought humour into your life. It's a powerful remedy to deflate people who think they know best.

Angry, no. Annoyed, yes. I read earlybird776 as a nostalgic look back at a great event, not a political statement. I'm just so tired of seeing people like you turning everything into political mud throwing. I really hope that your last half of your original post was an attempt at humour, and that you're not that brainwashed by Fox News.

  • @SolarMichael Part 1: Oh, but there's humor always in my life! Joy is far different than happiness, I might add! But, nevertheless, you shouldn't let something as simple as what I said get under your skin--life is too short. Political emblems are everywhere in our culture/world; do you tend to be annoyed everywhere that you go? Fox, CNN, MSNBC, etc. are all controlled by The World Bank in Geneva, Switzerland. I'm not within that paradigm prism like most are, thankfully.

  • @DerrickthePinecone WTF just listen to the song its wonderful

  • @SolarMichael Part 2: Obama is nothing more than a globalist/puppet of the Fed. Reserve & that's a fact. Just ask Kissinger. I'm a Constitutionalist. It's a sad world when the Obama zombies are still salivating over him, just hum-drumming along. I've been out of the left/right paradigm prism for years after discovering truth. None of the GOP candidates are worthy, except Ron Paul. Gingrich is a globalist & so is Romney. I could split hairs here, but I think you get the point.

  • @DerrickthePinecone. So we don't agree politically. That's fine with me, but that wasn't really my issue with your post.

I came here to listen to S&G, and pick up related info; not to see political mud throwing. On top of that, I got the feeling that you were foaming around your mouth when you wrote it.

However, I'm glad to hear that you like humour. It's our best defense against ultra right wing psycho christians. They sure don't have a lot of humour about them!

  • @SolarMichael Sure we do! We put up with posts like yours, don't we?

  • @jmacleve. Yeah, point taken. If you're just here to listen to S&G and pick up related material, like I was originally, my apologies for taking up all that posting space...

  • Central Park, 81. The greatest live show ever in the history of the world.

  • @TovarishGlushkov1 ... NO it's Woodstock.......because it's for the peace...in the world ..

  • I watched it when the views is about 6xx,xxx . I keep watching every month and now the views is 2,595,342 . I have been watching this video about a year and I will keep watching till I die .

  • ...always, ever and everytime...

  • Oh my lord

  • Paul Simon gave this song to Elvis and called it better than the original.... Well I love Paul, but dude you need a realilty check!! Art totally nails this song! BTW Please come to Europe!!

  • tout simplement magnifique, no comment

  • Bravo Art. You can see him put everything into this song.

  • timeless..beautiful..perfect

  • I was watching this concert and wrapping christmas presents when I got a call from my Mom and found out my Brother just died, and this song will forever resonate so very deeply with me. Sad, haunting and comforting all at the same time.

  • nostalgic !

  • The best rendition ever, paul your brill but this guy deserves it.

  • timeless...hauntingly beautiful!

  • yes just a tune and a half

  • This is the finest live vocal that I have ever heard. Absolutely brilliant!!

  • Art and Paul are the best

  • MIND BLOWING BEAUTIFUL I AM OUT OF SUPERLATIVES TO DESCRIBE THIS CLASSIC

  • One if not the best song ever been written. Never tired of listening to it over and over again. I have shared this video with my friends in facebook. Thanks ever so much KarmicOmen for posting it. Greetings. Fabrizia from Rome.

  • Two thumbs up!!

  • wow......goosebumps!!!!

  • This was so brilliant... the only available option is to listen to it again!

  • @luvart2607 THANKS for info. I was going nuts thinking about this.

  • I LOVEEEEEE MUSIC

  • You can just see Art wants this...its really rare when you can produce when you want something that bad. Unreal performace after not doing it in over a decade.

  • Anyone knows if that is Billy Preston on piano? Great song. Simon and Garfunkel were the best together.

  • @MATATONORTIZ The pianist was Richard Tee.

  • @luvart2607 yep the late Richard Tee, the studio version was Larry Knetchel (of Bread fame)

  • First heard this wonderful song 25 years ago and it has stayed with me through many ups and downs in my life. Remember you are never alone eventhough you may feel you are. Friends forever 43 Nev.

  • @annhro Yeah friends forever for sure Ann!

  • I just don't see how anyone could not like such a beautiful song... Much less 54 people. smh

This has always been my favorite song of theirs, besides Scarborough Fair. :)

  • I LOVE this guy - his voice is pure and definitely one of a kind. I agree with MrsRobinson4646 above - one guy, a voice, a mike and low keyed music and it just blows you away with the beauty of it all. Today's so called "singers" should take a long hard look at what great singing really is. They will be forgotten in no time at all - while, we're still hearing Simon & Garfunkel songs 40 odd years on and they're still classics. Good music never dies.

  • THE HARDEST SONG I'VE EVER MET WAS THIS ONE lol., so inspirational and touching., Hit Like if u listen t0 this song in 2012

  • Absolutely gives me shivers down my spine; what a beautiful voice Art has. And to carry this song on his own, with no orchestral backing; just phenomenal.

  • please pray for me. I could use that bridge right now.

  • @UpstairsMaid i will pray for you;-)

  • @UpstairsMaid You got it, Maid.

  • @UpstairsMaid Consider it done. Bless your heart.

  • @UpstairsMaid I literally have never replied to anything on Youtube, ever. But I just wanted to say " Are you ok?" I'm not even a religious dude or anything. I just figured I would at least once, in my life, reach out to someone and ask "hows it going? is there anything I could help you with?"

  • @Reacherbert 43 years of type 1 diabetes has taken a toll, I've been through dialysis, double organ transplant (kidney pancreas), two heart attacks, organ rejection, graft failiure (the pancreas) and now the kidney, the immunosuppressants have landed me in the icu 11 times in 7 years for pneumonia and now water on the lungs has robbed me of working. I've tried to stay positive - but somedays it's hard. Thank you for your kind thoughts and words.

  • @UpstairsMaid I am on your side when times get rough. Hope you will soon get better. All the best from Rome. Fabrizia

  • @UpstairsMaid thoughts with you now

  • Mucke still all right, aber die performance ... ist wie Kabarett

  • found this song in 2008, it was absolutely briliant...oh lovely

  • People are arguing and name-calling on a vid of the greatest friendship song ever written? What has the world come to?

  • @RBNightlinger its youtube.... where the trash of the world congregates and argues over ridiculous things.

  • Beautiful

  • que apesentaçao sensacional, arrebatadora, unica, o brasil inteira tira o chapeu. eterno.

  • But where is the ever YouTube song...? The ever deep song that was called over 10 million views back in 2009? I have seen the original song, for me the BEST song ever! 1970...This this Art Garfunkel was to me in 1980 a great reunion to (Paul Simon = what did he then?)....He was the best, sorry Paul but Art, his voice in this was really incredibly than your's...We have it all at the Law Lands at Europe........

  • WHERE HAS ALL THE GOOD MUSICS GONE?????

  • And I see you removed your original comment ...how very brave of you.

  • I don't know why Garfunkel wasn't bigger solo.

  • ...^_^...

  • ...^_^...

  • commovente.
