Well depend what "realy good card" you gonna get!! If you get a GTX280-260, GX2, ATI 4870 you gonna be better going with those cards, because even in SLI it will not be as good as one of those!!

If you get 9600's in SLI you will get better performance then a 8800Ultra-Blackpearl! And may be close in performance to a 9800GTX in SLI & a GX2!!

Is kinda hard to say, because the 9600GT when overclocked have the same or more speed then a 8800GT, but a 8800GT when OC is way more faster then a 9600GT. The 9600GT is the bestprice-performance ratio, and can play any game. The 8800GT is more expensive then the 9600GT, but in high resolutions will smoke the 9600GT because have more streem prossesors.

So if you don't want to speed alot of more buy the 9600GT and OC it, but if you like to play in high resolutions buy the 8800GT.

XFX 7600GS 256MB (G73)

ASUS EN8800GS 328MB (G92)

ASUS EN8600GT 512MB (G84)

8800GS was the best.

if i was you right now i would get anything 512MB with G92 GPU for about 100€.

Yeah!!! Trying to open that box with one hand was a pain in the ass!!! I get about 40-45FPS in Crysis(high, 1400x900)!! so is a very good GPU!

Yes I have the P5N-D motherboard (750i) and u can check it I have a video of it. But PCI_E2.0 gives you only about 5-15 extra FPS, so the BIG impact on your FPS are your Processor,memory,HHD.....

Yes your specs are not bad at all! But maybe is the PCI-E and try to OC the video card or/and the PCI-E bus speed in the BIOS.!!!!

I run the fan at 50% and it hits (idle) about 38-40C and in load (100% fan in Crysis) about 48-57C, but I have 4 120mm fans on my case and one 92mm fan blowing cold air on the fan

It seems this release is even better than de Alpha Dog edition, since they are beginning to cut costs, and now they include the horrible 8800GS heatsink and fan, which does not cover the whole pcb, and its noisy.

On this model you have, the fan is set by 35% and it's incredible quiet and cool.

I managed to set the gpu @750Mhz and increased the fan speed to 70%, and it's still quiet and really stable.
