  • its so special he talks about his last interview.. makes me cry

  • great guy.

  • Really great interview. It had a really ominous tone to it. Very deep.

  • thank you so much, this is one of the most inspiring interview ever

  • visionary

  • this moved me. im inspired, again.

  • Why do all Detroit techno producers die of heart complications? Seriously, why?

  • @skulleton intesity of the music?

  • @DarkAsset

I suspect drugs were involved, though it's just a theory at this point.

  • this is fantastic, its such a shame he never got to realise his ambition to play concerts, a true original, he is sadly missed, rest in peace james

  • drexciya is one the best techno and electro funk djs. and he is unique. one of my favorite tracks by him are devil ray cove and fusion flats

  • inspiring!

  • how dare anyone dislike this?.. Soulless, disrespectful c*nts.

a truly clever, passionate man giving his last interview.

    Thanks for posting this.

  • 4 listens to Justin Bieber

  • Superb. Thank you. Peace.

  • I die a little inside every time I hear this interview and he goes: "This is basically the last interview..."

    Wise man, brilliant musician.

  • Miss you, James!

  • this is sensational, thank you

  • This is the voice of GOD !

  • thanx for the upload

  • Infinite.

  • RIP James Stinson

  • briliant

  • Also, it feels like Liz is the biggest fan of their music, she's almost cuming while stating her thoughts about the music :D

  • 04:10 - 04:45 "alright.....alright...alright...alright" blended in with the background tune. Can't mess with the Drex.

A golden interview from the blue inhabitants. Didn't have a clue about this, thanks a lot!

  • At the very end, he says "even if I die next week or whatever, there'll still be a lot of music left. I have a nice stockpile"... So what are they waiting for to put out his unreleased tracks ??!! That'd fulfill his wishes and ours too... RIP.

  • @topheecheesecake

I know LAB RAT XL was released after his death. One of his Transllusion albums was also released after his dead, I'm not shure which one..but if there is more of James Stinsons' music I would really love to hear those as well!!

    R.I.P.

  • This music inspired me so much and will always continue to do so. Rock hard James, I know you're Wavejumpin' wherever you are. KPL

  • Thank you for sharing this!

  • @makemassair no problem DVNT, things like this have to be shared.

  • James Stinson RIP

  • this is wonderful. thank you for posting this

  • Rare, because nobody has heard of him?

  • awesome int thnx how did he die?..

  • @SunRaOo he died due to heart complication i think at least i read that somewhere

  • awesome int thnx how did he die ? ..

  • best 27 minutes of my life

  • annotation at ~20:00 is wrong. it's not "davey jones locker", it's "bubble metropolis"

  • @nevenen I'm afraid you're wrong nevenen, they both have the same intros and so it's Davey Jones Locker. Easy mistake to make though.

  • He would hate most dribble that is called techno today.

respecting someone cause it is hip yet still indulge in the mindless, souless shite, inst understanding or staying down. as he use to say.

  • @septopia Can't blame us newer generations (7 years old scene-wise) for still having a spot for the souless techno shite even after finding out about Drexciya. I do and did drop some genres, but some are left there because I do recognize something with value there as well. What Drexciya does is far more advanced, but different.

"whatever energy gets projected, capture it, see what you feel. Cuz anyone is gonna interpret it differently". That's what the man said up there :)

  • to blame a generation? now that would be a mistake. they could have easily blamed us too.

I was a personal friend fo James and spent many moments just listening and learning from him.

I only said what i said. Because knowing him as i did i know he would be pretty upset with the state of things today.

It has nothing to do with age. didnt for him never did for me. It has to do with integrity and this is the sadly lacking element to most things these days.

  • @septopia Second that, sorry for finishing your sentence about generations. It never wasn't about physical age, true. It's all in the mind, integrity as you said, passion for exploring new planes of the audio world, instead of getting on your knees for the sake of mu$ic industry. It's easy to spot the benefits that drag people into making uncreative, stagnant music even shamelessly ripping off genuine artists. Greed and keeping up with "the standard". If only everyone recognized the finer side.

  • @noiz87 exactly... thanks

  • Thanks for this interview. Much respect.

  • what a beautiful, amazing man.

Truly inspiring - and a good interviewer doing this too... :-)

  • the man was/is a HERO 100%ER.....

  • GENIOUS

  • this guy was so cool, to bad hes gone....

  • Thanks.

  • What i love about his dedication to his music is how he talks about locking himslef away and not listening to radio, friends, peoples vibes etc...

That is dedication and their music is the result, hats off! R.I.P.

  • He sounds like a badass. Awesome music.

  • stock pile?

    fuck! i need it

  • amazing, so sad but so inspirational, RIP

  • "Experiments must continue, even until death." Fitting quote from Stinson. RIP

  • gracias

  • Enjoyed muchly thankyou!

  • species of the pod (last song) is awsome

  • My hero.

  • Thanks for posting this rarity. I thoroughly enjoyed this! Very enlightening and what a frikking shame he had to leave us so early. I have to put on some Transllusion now to pick myself up.

  • That was an amazing interview.

Respect goes to Liz Copeland for doing an EXCELLENT job!

  • Remarkably eerie listening to him talk about his health, and leaving detroit.. :(

legend, gone before his time.. Although if he saw the current electro revival going on presently he'd probably be disgusted ;)

  • A great interview, which sadly has close to 10 minutes a mention of things to come, he touches on the need to remain underground not for the sake of being underground but because it is what he feels and what he is about, for me what makes this interview so worth while is the mention of the 'one take', as it pushes towards ending the myth that drexciya made a large amount of their music live in the studio.

  • Great to hear this again. Very rare to see a person believe & devote himself to his craft to the level Mr. Stinson did. Respect.

  • People like James Stinson is what life is all about .... Inspire!

Hope you have found your cave on the other side Sir!

  • "People like James Stinson is what life is all about" Very TRUE!! Inspiring!

  • Man great thanks so much for this one

    True Electro Legend

  • Switch to Drexciyan time, and save your souls.

  • Thank you for this, peace.

  • lol @ "I'm not enjoying myself"

And that's why Detroit Techno is like nothing else in the whole of modern culture.

  • Excellent! Thanks.

  • World needs more Drexciyans.

  • Drexciya Respect, i live ur tunes !!!

  • Tx for posting this, many peeps appreciate this.

Anyone knows the name of the track at 20:30? Never heard it before ...

  • Full respect to Drexciya, Dopplereffekt, Der Zyklus, Transllusion, Other People Place, LAM, Abstract Thought, Lab Rat XL, Elecktroids, Shifted Phases, Japanese Telecom, Arpanet, Glass Domain & Clarence G.

bye the way: The Tuss = Richard D James aka Aphex Twin/AFX

  • Incredible.I have to say it made me sad too!!Big loss Thanks for the stuff you put on.

  • damn i love my cave too

  • I love this interview... he pretty much answers questions like: "No." and "We don't do that".

Pure underground... Does anyone even know what he looks like?

  • There are very few pictures of James Stinson (the one being interviewed) on the internet and there's dozens of pictures of Gerald Donald (the partner he refers to), Mad Mike, and the guys from Ultradyne.

  • Donald is a black guy right?

I'd really like to know what Stinson looks like...

  • If you search for " The Martian - Search Your Feelings - Red Planet (Underground Resistance) - 1993" , here on Youtube you can see the whole Drexciya crew - all black.

James Stinson is the person who appears in the picture at exactly 2:00 mins into the video. I think thats the only picture of him ever released...

  • Also check this link : search " Clarence G - Data Transfer"

here on Youtube. It's also James Stinson, old electro.

  • tx for all the stuff you put up for us.

  • Very, very cool.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • let the music do the talking

  • I stumbled on you while trying to learn more about who "The Tuss" was. I didn't know about Drexciya when they were around and I just wanted to thank you for all the music and info you've posted. You're the reason I now know about Drexciya and I love this music. :) Many thanks and please keep it coming. ^^
