At the very end, he says "even if I die next week or whatever, there'll still be a lot of music left. I have a nice stockpile"... So what are they waiting for to put out his unreleased tracks ??!! That'd fulfill his wishes and ours too... RIP.
I know LAB RAT XL was released after his death. One of his Transllusion albums was also released after his dead, I'm not shure which one..but if there is more of James Stinsons' music I would really love to hear those as well!!
@septopia Can't blame us newer generations (7 years old scene-wise) for still having a spot for the souless techno shite even after finding out about Drexciya. I do and did drop some genres, but some are left there because I do recognize something with value there as well. What Drexciya does is far more advanced, but different.
"whatever energy gets projected, capture it, see what you feel. Cuz anyone is gonna interpret it differently". That's what the man said up there :)
to blame a generation? now that would be a mistake. they could have easily blamed us too.
I was a personal friend fo James and spent many moments just listening and learning from him.
I only said what i said. Because knowing him as i did i know he would be pretty upset with the state of things today.
It has nothing to do with age. didnt for him never did for me. It has to do with integrity and this is the sadly lacking element to most things these days.
@septopia Second that, sorry for finishing your sentence about generations. It never wasn't about physical age, true. It's all in the mind, integrity as you said, passion for exploring new planes of the audio world, instead of getting on your knees for the sake of mu$ic industry. It's easy to spot the benefits that drag people into making uncreative, stagnant music even shamelessly ripping off genuine artists. Greed and keeping up with "the standard". If only everyone recognized the finer side.
anyone know more about his death is it posserble it was a cover up for him leaving just an idear he did say he was leaving ? or maybe he knew he was goning to die ? if so i hope he rests in peace extreamly interesting person
Thanks for posting this rarity. I thoroughly enjoyed this! Very enlightening and what a frikking shame he had to leave us so early. I have to put on some Transllusion now to pick myself up.
A great interview, which sadly has close to 10 minutes a mention of things to come, he touches on the need to remain underground not for the sake of being underground but because it is what he feels and what he is about, for me what makes this interview so worth while is the mention of the 'one take', as it pushes towards ending the myth that drexciya made a large amount of their music live in the studio.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
i love drexciya and all JS projects but whats with all this anti-marketing? cant talk about this, cant talk about that, cant mention who his partner is even though everyone knows. and she's gotta tippy toe around every question. if you are willing to do an interview then why not be cool about it?
