I know what caused the big bang! God and Satan had butt sex with each other thus creating the big bang while also creating positive & negative energy, good vs evil ^_^
There is no question as well as answer of a god. The Reality is Infinity even if there is a vision it is a temporary in the absence of vision also Infinity is there. Those formulas made by human are also temporary because Physics, Chemistry and Biology changes Universally. It is Infinite Conversion human life is a micro part of this Conversion this is Infinite Reaction no one is creator nor destroyer nor controller. Finally this is Infinite Universal Reaction
Obviously the guy doesn't believe in God, take a hint. He was just giving an academic answer. Don't worry, when I'm a grey-haired PhD I'll answer: "No, I don't believe in fuckin' God, now piss off with the stupid questions."
How did the universe expand out of the black hole?
I mean, it must have had the density of a black hole, being the mass of the whole universe, at size of an atom.
How can anything be blasted out of a super black hole?
Maybe we are inside the black hole, and expansion is explained by the pull of the black hole on us, from every direction. Since we are in the centre of it, 13.7 Giga light years in.
The closer to the black hole edge, in any direction, the greater the pull, or red shift it has.
@InternetOneOS "How can anything be blasted out of a super black hole" - I often ponder the same question, but then I recall the time I got caught in the wake of my sister's huge, fat ass. Whatablast, DAYAMN!
@InternetOneOS You asked a question a month ago about how the universe expanded out of a black hole. General Relativity means that objects cannot travel faster than light, but the expansion of space can (and does) expand faster than light. So space itself expanded faster than light immediately after the big bang and is continuing to do so now.
Yes, the universe is infinite. I mean, it's not like there is a fucking barricade anywhere. Just my opinion, but yeah, I can't prove this to be correct. The guy didn't answer the second question so he won't upset anyone, quit asking.
Perhaps the question should be is the universe spatially infinite? Or is it infinite in spatial dimension? If this is the case then the answer is NO. A Universe which started with finite dimension smaller than an atom can never become infinite in size. However, some scientists define an infinite universe as an ever expanding finite universe that will continue to expand indefinitely or infinitely in time. Thus, it will become practically "infinite in size" given an infinite time.
I agree with your last statement. I've actually never thought of it to be infinite in that sense.
Furthermore, how can it be that we live in a universe which is infinite in space while at the same time adding space? Isn't that a contradiction in a way? Mathematically, isn't infinity plus anything equal to a number other than infinity? How can you even add to infinity?
I would appreciate it if you or anyone else would enlighten me on the topic of infinity.
We can only guess what's beyond that? Well, we will be able to see an opaque wall which was how the universe looked like at the moment of it birth an infinitessimal time after the Big Bang. The fartherst object we see with out telescope are the oldest objects in the universe since their light have just reached us after its object emits it and travelling through an expanding space. Beyond us if it's possible we can see the edge of the expanding space.:)
The universe is an evolvinig plane that serves as a barrier which separates two volumes of space. One of these volumes is extremely hot and the other extremely cold.At the inner and outer barriers of the universal plane, a continuous interaction of the enegies pervades producing micro big bangs thatforever fusses the energies and further causes the universe to expand. The so called big bang though was a silent interaction of these energies since in order for there to be a bang,a medium is vital.
@tdrobar Well if he's trained in biology and not physics he won't be able to answer you. It's like being a mechanic and being an architect. Trained for two different disciplines.
@Jammsbro1 i get that, but biology is a science right? i guess, i should have said that he was also a youth minister. it was just crazy to me that a scientist, either had no explanation for what he believed, or just refused to tell me. either way it was frustrating. its like those aethiests who got all pissed because they werent involved in a prayer cerimony held at some event recently. just frickin weird.
@tdrobar Well to be fair to the guy, no human that has ever lived could answer the question. It would just be a guess. Which would be as good as your own answer.
@yamaguchiyo No he did give an answer you just weren't listening. Dr. Mather is an astrophysicist who relies solely on empirical evidence. He claims that he cannot give you an answer since there is no empirical data to go on therefore his opinion is null.
it is so sad and frustrating that religion has such a high impact on the world that even a scientist, who surely believes that everything what happens in the universe is related to the laws of physics, chemistry or biology, cannot straight forward say that he DOES NOT believe in god and suchlike fairy tales not to ruin his reputation..
The concept of 'god' isn't necessary to explain anything and is as such not a good question to be dealt with in a series about science. Science is the subject of facts (what is) and religion of non-facts (what is not).
I liked this answer, adding the word 'yet' was beautifully done. However, isn't time a dimension of space and should as such be linked to the beginning so that there is no 'before', which is a concept of 'time'? 'Before time' seems to me like defining 'the inside of a dot'.
You are wrong. In the field of science, inducting and deducting are necessary. You are neither deducting nor inducting. In the field of science the depth of the field only goes af far as how the scientist mental capacity is. Religion has never been non factual.
I state nothing against inductive or deductive reasoning, I'm just stating that the concept of 'god' is unnecessary to explain the world. And as a series about current understanding shouldn't have to deal with how sacrificing goats does not cure disease, it shouldn't have to deal with how 'god' doesn't do anything.
If you think religion has anything to do with facts, please share with me your examples so I'll be able to examine them.
you are an idiot to state that i am rambling. Read my comment properly bigot. Then come up with your conclusion. What I am stating is the science is till to young. Nevertheless, the theory or existance of god will come in to question sooner or later. You are a moron to use goat sacrifice as an analogy. As far as I know god is not diety. sacrificing goats are intended for dieties. For god, meditation is practiced.
1) The nonsense from your part is that you do not address what I was writing. I never stated that Science or Religion doesn't deal with theories, I wrote that Science base its Theories on facts, whereas Religion does not.
2) The analogy isn't about deities vs. gods, it's about facts vs. other facts, neither has any backing as to whether they do anything at all and should not be included in a series about stuff that are actually deduced to have happen.
3) I'm asking you for any evidence to back up your claim, please clarify how that makes me a bigot.
4) There's no theory about any 'god' existing in Science as of this date, however if you have your own hypothesis about 'god', based on facts, you're very welcome to try and publish it to see if it can stand the test of peer-review.
5) Each new generation of scientist stands on the shoulders of those before, ever increasing the depth of our knowledge. As such science isn't young, it's just not complete. Religion change with each new generation of morality that progress make happen. As such religion is complete and still very young.
6) The 500 signs YouTube allow isn't enough to deal with these questions, as such I leave a lot up to the reader to conclude on their own, I'm sorry if this made you confused...
7) You seem quite insisting to not share any examples, comparisons or beliefs about whatever the 'god' you're describing is and as such your claims are quite vague. Could you clarify what kind of being your trying to assert on the world?
8) Was it really necessary to attack my person rather than my arguments?
Since you said that i lack examples, will give you one, Isacc Newton, the great physist in where most physics theory is based on wrote a spiritual book emphasising meditation. I have forgotten the title but i can find it out if you want.
so you are saying you know what religion and science is about? I am actually curious Isacc Newton, Albert einstein and Neil bohr would disagree. A major gap exist between religion and spirituality is partly can be blamed on churches during the dark ages. Brilliant scientist cannot voice out due to their fear for their lives. Scientist during the tutelage of heydays of the churches authority succumbed to their wishes and hence science were only recluse to physical aspects
10) My conclusion is that you probably have an idea about what your talking about. However, you're using a very narrow interpretation of whatever is 'god' and should as such try to broaden your mind a bit more before continuing this rant. Or at the very least try and define whatever 'god' you're arguing about. I don't think you know what Religion and Science really is, so I've included a dictionary explanation so you won't repeat the same mistake.
wow dude. Your answer shows alot about you. very level headed indeed. See my fellow worthy advisory you have a masters in science. I am impressed. Religion usually emphasis is on self discovery am i not correct? Religion revolves around humans so does science, science revoles around humans.
Maybe not.. what if he didn't feel like dealing with the PR backlash? If he said he believed in a God people would have wanted to know which one ect.. then he would have to debate his POV and it would have just been a mess.
I was surprised he allowed that question to air.. maybe he did it to end emails from people on the topic once and for all.
There are no theoretical scientists that believe in religion. You can't do astrophysics and believe in God at the same time. The funny thing though is that their work is mostly "religious" in nature! It's based on human interpretations of partial observations and assumptions about the un-observable. Sounds like a lot of "faith" in there to me!
Dr. Mather, you didn't really give a clear answer on his 2nd question about God.. So do you believe in God or some form of a higher power or science? I hope you can give us an accurate answer to that question.
He asked if Dr. Mather THINKS that the universe is created by a higher power and he answerd that he is a scientist so he don't know. He didn't say what he thoughed.
The guy who asks question didn't explicitly say he's stupid, did he? He just said he was 15. Dr. Mather didn't save to say what be believes personally because he's not a closet christian. He believes in what he does.
If you listen to the questions and the answers carefully, you'll see that Dr. Mather did answer the "God" question. The student asked the "God" question with the multiple choice.
