First guys, it's any difficulty besides easy, and it has nothing to do with the "only legendary" thing.I've played the mission on normal and we heard Buck.So MY OPINION is that maybe the mission has to be configured a specific order of objectives inorder to see buck.Also I saw Buck up close.He just looked like one of the ordinary Odsts.He was also carrying an Assault Rifle.

Gunnery Sargeant Edward Buck's encounter is indeed not random you must play on Legendary and can only play the encounter after your first play through the game. You could consider his encounter a sort of "easter egg." It is a pretty well put together idea of the encounter, legendary reserved music and armor from ODST sounds good to me, although the type of armor Buck is wearing is technically inconsistent with it's time period I think it's a minor flaw that can be overlooked.

well i played on legendary, with IWHBYD skull on thought it would help) but he didn't show, i think that he shows up in co-op, all videos i have seen the person has been in co-op, maybe since the game scales and gets harder and buck's mission is more challenging, i dunno just speculating.

I found Buck as well, but the request was a bit different, there are probably a couple different audio files for his voice in this game. Also, I had to fly to a different place, the top of a different tower. When he landed, I got out and followed him into a tiny room with no other way out and he said "Thanks for your help Spartan, I'll see you in Hell". I think exactly those words, and then he vanished. Obviously a reference to being "Helljumpers", but it was weird that he disappeared.

it just happens. seems to be random. what happened was Greiver666 was just sitting doing other things and when he came back to his room he heard Buck talking. the second time it happened we where already doing the mission when Buck comes onto the radio asking for help.

there doesn't seem to be any pattern. I think the only common thing was that we played on Legendary when it happened. not sure if that has anything to do with it or not.

This mission is a free-flow one. Notice that it doesn't have any rally point alpha and bravo and stuff as well?

@Christianmarquez I think it's random every time towards what you need to do. I say this because I've passed this game on Solo Legendary, Legendary Co-Op, Normal Co-Op, and Normal. (Yes, no lifing it up, lol) And each time the objectives were in different order and sometimes I didn't do some of them.
