We used to have Finast stores here in Northeast Ohio. Before then, it was known as Pick-N-Pay, then Finast and later Tops. All the Tops stores in Ohio closed down or were converted to Giant Eagle and Heinen's.
I remember that Murphy's Oil Soap commercial like it was yesterday but somehow I don't remember Mom being such a coloratura. I do remember the little boy sounding like Annie, though.
12. I remember Finast stores in Ohio... they were later renamed Tops Food Stores, and now the majority of them (if not all of them) went out of business a couple years ago... it's all Giant Eagle in that area now...
Thank you so much for showing some local (for me) commericals. I had just turned 4 when these originally aired, and remember most of them very well.
The News Promo with the "micro machines guy" (hey that's what I best remember him for) for 30 news is for WVIT out of Hartford CT "an hours news in 1/2 the time" was their slogan at that time. and holy crap! Finast! I still remember the one in my hometown, which is now Tri-Town foods (IGA owned 3 store chain). what a tip down memory lane.
Dear 80's Commercial Vault: I have been perusing your vids for about a week or so. I gotta say this. They absolutely take me back to that era. It's like a time warp. Lock stock and barrel. (Especially after a beer or 3) Keep up the freaking awesome work!
Freesbee you just can't do it alone ! LMAO

30 years from now I'll bet there won't be nostalgia about 2011 commercials because we all fast-forward over them now.

Yeah lawn mower man!!! Yknow Stephen King lives in New England...maybe this commercial inspired him!

Monty from Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta looks like Bruce Jenner! It's that girly hair cut!

Love that Murphys Oil Soap commercial!

I'm liking the WNEW and WSBK clips!
Hartz advertised all the time here on TV in the 80s.
I thought Lawnmower Man on that Lawn Boy ad too!
Those announcer voice overs like the one at 2:09 used to be LOUD and scary to younger folk in the 80s -- including myself!
If Bruce Jenner didn't get involved with a Kardashian, he would have faded into 80s obscurity forever.
It was easy for me to think of MST3K's "Crow" to sing that Taster's Choice ad in one of their bad films!

VEE-acom?
that's some head of hair on Bruce Jenner
the image on the Tropicana oj container is bizarre
Murphy's Oil Soap has the best jingle EVER!
yes, I'm sure the "soft flavor" Taster's Choice coffee settles all marital disputes
8:07, so the boys are only paying attention because of the sandles, and NOT the short shorts?
a comercial for Frisbee? "Okay, honey, give it to me again!"

You know what's funny? Bruce Jenner was hawking Tropicana about a year ago, too! (With the rest of the Kardashian clan this time, though. Boo.)

@gctechs Use of radium based paint was phased out years before these aired.

My mom had 2 pairs of those Dr. Scholl's sandals - they were heavy as hell! I guess that also helped with the toning.

When I watch these and listen to them I can just imagine being a small child. Thank you for sharing. This set is 2 months before my 3rd birthday. :)
