  • Thanks for the comment man. Hmmm...not sure how to help you there! All the sounds apart from the bassline are coming from the 909 in this track. Hvae you tried making your own patches? Have a read of the manual and you should pick it up pretty quickly.. :)

  • YE SOUND MAN,ILL TRY DAT SURE TANX

  • its all about filter envelopes

  • ye its complicated enough 2 get the hang of it all,i jus dont seem 2 hav the time for it,sure if ya know ne1 lookin for a 909 let me no,bout 700 euro its like new,

  • **sticks to software :D:D:D:D

  • I assume I'm not mistaken if I say that what gets on everybody's nerves is that when we see you producing this track live, it seems easy... Good track, man...

  • Haha thanks a lot for the comment! Hope it doesn't annoy you too much to watch this... ;)

  • @ChMax8038 It might seem easy ... What your seeing now but , if you only knew what it took for him to get to this point and make all the sounds and make everything mesh well , you would understand !

  • hola siedgey I want to lower your songs mp3 I do since it, or you can put them in you plow? in order to lower them in mp3? greetings from Mexico

  • yes!

  • this is the "true" sound of the underground ...5 Stars 4 u

  • Thanks for the comment and rating, I'm glad you enjoyed the vid!

  • the problem with these modules( ihave quite a few) is that theyre old. now they might sound nice to hear especially when your creating them yourself, but they take you nowhere.

if ur interested in expanding just buy a virus b its quite good for techno. and inexpensive!

and for those who are thinking vintage....im sorry to disappoint but the only accepted vintage is a moog sound.

not even a nord synth would be appreciated in todays scene its all bout high synths not deep bass sounds

  • In 10 years of production I've learned this:

It's NEVER about the equipment, it's about the person using it.

There's a little validity that there are some rich analogue-y bass tones that you're not going to get out of his gear (versus the Virus or Nord) - but it can be done.

    Talent ALWAYS trumps equipment.

  • yeah i agree with you that some people are more talented and flexible on certain boards, and one usually perfects these old machine because he cannot afford the super high priced synths that come out each year and maybe because he'll think he wont ever make enough money back with music. If you 'invest', try harder and send out as many demos as possible it wont be that hard to get a cd or 2 and maybe some live shows . i live in europe i dunno where u r but here its quite that simple really..

  • Hey man, thanks a lot for the comment. If you check out my later videos, you'll see that I actually have a Virus Classic (re-cased Virus B basically!). It's an amazing synth - I use it for almost all of my sounds these days. With regards to releasing tracks, I have been doing so for a wee while now - check Simon Stokes on Beatport. I've also got some vinyls upcoming this year, and I'm starting to do a bit of touring, including Europe. Thanks a lot for your interest and comment! :)

  • im kinda seeing things turning around in the dance scene aswell!! house and daft posh cunts are out of business. they not vivid

everybody wants to go back to deep roots! no more champagne and disco balls hopefully!

it might be a cracker seeing all the great names of techno travelling to ibiza smashin sandy beaches up with schranz!!

  • yes but you could resample the outputs anyway

not that i bother with hardware myself,i use reason 4:)

  • not the greatest software in the world

    tbh;/

  • its ok, if you like synthesis .what i do miss about hardware (i used to have an mc505) is the realtime knob twiddling .but that unit sound banks became old fast ie.pcm samples.

but seeing as the 909 is a sampler the possibilities are limitless

  • pcm...are You kidding ?

MC-909 synth engine is exactly same as the Fantom XV 5050 which is 4 stereo tones per patch based on presdampled instruments or just the waveforms itself.

pcm is pulse code modulation used for.ex on the legendary Yamaha DX-7 and plenty of 80's keyboards.

Without the sampler part it has almost endless patch-making capabilities, even without the COMBINE function...

  • well some say it bothering...others say cant afford lol :)

  • Hehe it's an expensive business, but it's definitely worth it. Best hobby ever.. :)

  • Wonderfull ! You have talent man, keep going on and don't stop. Rythm, melody, all changings just makes it sound really awesome !

  • gorgeously hazy techno sound! nice work

  • Hey man, thanks a lot - glad you like the track.

  • love the tones. great job cant wait to hear more.

  • hehehe...keep up the good work mate!:D...great stuff!

  • Sometimes you built up the listeners by increasing some FX to the baseline while lowering the kick.

Afterwards you turened off the FX and let the kick come back.

I would have had enjoyed some parts of this mix more, if you had left the FX turned on.

anyway: I realy like the mix. well done!

  • Haha yeah that is what a few people have said about this track, but I kinda made it to be a bit of a cock-tease of a track as it was only going to be the 2nd tune in my live set so it shouldn't be too banging! I think it needs a meaty remix at some point. Thanks for your comment man. :)

  • what kind of speaker system do u use?

  • Hi there man, I have 2x Tannoy Reveal monitors for production, and 2x Alesis M1 MkIIs for my DJ setup. The M1 Mk2 speakers are absolutely immense sounding for the price, the Tannoy's are nice and flat sounding. Cheers, S

  • hey seriously good stuff! u gotto get some releases out there dude

  • Hehe thanks man, glad you enjoyed it! See you back soon hopefully. :)

  • i would leave the bass run with that fx while the kicks.

every time you applied fx to the bass, you muted the bass... :(

  • Hi, thanks for the comment - not sure what you mean here - muted the bass? The bass runs throughout the whole tune - maybe if you are listening on small speakers it is too deep for you to hear?

  • sry, i meant "every time you applied the fx to the bass, you muted the kicks" :D

  • Ah right - OK thanks man, I will consider that as I am making up my live mix just now. I just liked the kinda build-up aspect of the growling bass and then throwing the kicks back in, but I'll experiment! Cheers for watching. :)

  • i know that when u use the fx, is a great time to cut out the kicks, but after 5 minutes hearing that bass line, if you dont make a little modification, the tracks's base could be a little bit monotonous :D

after some minutes start applying some fx's to the sounds, so it'll be a cool build up

    see you

  • haha the old look to the video...didnt know they had such great technology back in the ages XD ncie video and mix man

  • fuckin hell!!! amazing again!

  • proper...you obviously know how to use it...one of the best ive heard on you tube....large in the area.

  • Wow thanks a lot man, glad you liked it! Once I've got some uni projects out the way I'll get some more dark techno up I think. Cheers man.

  • asnd any chance you can hook me up with an mp3 of that darjk tune. I'd well play that out, tis well moody

  • yeah i am on it mate, I have a techno tune you may enjoy that i will post up soon also, take it easy

  • Sooooo....where is this tune you speak of?!

  • me likes. killer track!

  • Cheers for the comment man! Check back for more tunes when you can! Take it easy. S

  • i am really wanting a mc909, are they hard to use to start with? I still use reason and ableton, but would love a 909 to put together a live performance. have you played out anywhere with that beast?

  • Hi mate, like any complex instrument that 909 takes a bit of time to get your head round. But once you understand it...it's amazing! I'm still building myself up to playing out, hopefully soon though...cheers for watching. ps. buy a 909. NOW.

  • wicked mate! Serioulsy good, You have made me want hardware, so much more fun

  • Hehe thanks man - I started off with hardware, moved to software, and now I am firmly back with h/w - it's so much more tactile which is the fun part for me. Bought an Access Virus today so there will hopefully be nice new tunes comin soon... :)

  • minimal house!

  • Nice tune.Keep working.

  • nice. let me know if you record this

  • HiHi loving it again get in touch bud

    Steven

  • yeah .... well done ;)
