Lol whats wrong with you guys? its perfectly normal to clip the feathers, and the feathers grow back in a few months. Sometimes this are done for the birds safety, and sometimes just for making taming easier.

One suggestion, don't cut the wings that much, 1.5 inches is just enough, The bird should be able to fly at least a few feet (my opinion)

I heard about a woman who took her cockatoo outside, and it flew across the yard, where the neighbor's dog killed it. Wing clipping is for the bird's SAFETY, at least until it is trained not to fly away. No, the bird won't like it at first. It'll get used to it. AND the feathers will grow back.

Best thing for birds is to fly. BUT most people don't know how to recall flight train their birds, or they have un-tame birds often in TINY cages. Therefore, clipping wings would be the "right" thing to do. You would be irresponsible if you let your bird fly without proper training. You'd never let your dog off leash without training it first would you? because it could run into the street and get hit by a car. RESPONSIBLE and EDUCATED bird owners will flight train their birds! = free flight

Not crippled forever? If the feathers grew back they will be cut again. Wing clipping IS animal abuse done by lazy bird holders. It is a shame for every one who keeps birds with love and respect.
