WM6 on x51v (football edition)

I just bought a X51 from a shop for £52 or $72 with 6 months warranty and support and it seems unoffical roms around for upgrading it to WM 6.5 because the only thing stopping it that dell dont support it anymore and therefore do not offer a rom update and yes the unit can, i was going to repair a 1940 Ipaq i have but decided not to bother. i really like the look of the dell and the wifi is a grt addtion as i can now use free wi-fi spots in my local town.

You can use WM6 on x50V but not with Football's ROM (only for X51v). MagLite (at xda-developers) made a WM6 x50v ROM that works quite nicely (I use it on my x50v). It installs the same way (hold power+wireless+reset, SD image loader, SD card, yeah...) but it's a different file.

What's the Windows Update about? Is that a new feature in WM5/6 or are you using a costum OS? I've been far off the market for a year now, my last handheld was a Windows CE 3.0 Jornada 545 so I've missed quite abit - getting a new WM5-based machine tommorow, but still, is Windows Update actually there?
