I saw this while sitting at a red light. Suddenly everything was bright as day. I thought it was a firework, but when I turned to see it I saw the meteor shoot by and a trail of fire about as thick as my finger in the sky. It was big enough that I could see individual flames on the tail!

Yeah, this was brighter than the noon-day sun and the brightness woke me up. Experts claim that it was no larger than a washer but hit the atmosphere at 80,000 MPH. The explosion in the atmosphere was equivalent to one kiloton of TNT. Imagine what an asteroid the size of house or city block would look like.

I saw this all the way from Reno, NV. It was amazing, like an instant of night turned day! I can't believe it was in Utah!

I saw one like that! It was about 11:15 at night above Sparks, Nevada. I thought it hit at first, but I guess it didn't. It was amazing the way it lit the sky up as bright as day.
