  • those were full squats also..not the half rep stuff that guys get credit for nowdays

  • al buno squatted 848, lol ed coan did that @ 198 in the 1985 hawaii meet

  • He ignores the blood completely? haha. What the fuck is supposed to do when he has 964 on his back? haha

  • Put that head down and your done son.

  • why would you look down, you're supposed to look up when you squat.

  • @powerlifterism1 No you are not, if anything you want to focus on a point slightly down and in front of you, and use that as somewhat of an indicator in order to maintain good form and balance.

  • coan is one brave motherfucker

  • i would snap my back and shit my pants just trying to unrack that kind of weight

  • 5'9 400. Hahah big man!

  • haha at the beggining he wont look him in the eye lol

  • The monolift wouldn't be legal. There is a world of powerlifting outside of WPO. Being able to unrack the weight and walk out is actually considered a part of the lift.

  • blood streaming from his nose. Fucking RAW!!!

  • lmfao!!! stupid fuck boy!!!

  • cool

  • damn!

  • Grest Post!!!!!

  • fuck off then

  • this is the real good squat!!!

  • Tony Saunders should have been kicked out of the contest for dumping the bar.

  • your stupid.

  • No, you are. It's 'you're' not 'your'. Ignorant pleb!

  • i dont think he did it intentionally. he let himself go too far foward and gravity took over. id like to see you try and recover when a 800lb+ bar is pushing you down.

  • Does anyone know if Ed every squated over 1000 lbs before?. If not he had to be damn close. It seems he had limitless power.

  • indeed he has. one of the strongest pound for pound powerlifters in history. and in general. just in case nobody said anything to you yet.

  • Yeah I have read that alot. Im not a powerlifter myself but do enjoy learning about it.

  • victor is the man

  • bunch of freaks...

  • Victor Naylekin

    Kiev, Russia.

Odd, I thought the clip was from 2000 and not 1990? Kiev is the capital of Ukraine since 1991, kinda dumb to get that wrong in such an expensive and proffessional event imo.

  • I also saw that mistake, but for your information, ever before 1991 Kiev was the capital of USSR, not russia, it is different things.

  • ed coan nobody does better...

  • Bro the 5'6 guy squated 4 times his weight... Thats not normal is it...? Ed Cohen...

  • my bad Coan..

  • that first guy could barely get it out of the rack let alone squat it

  • that first guy,, is strong

  • who care about fat, it's powerliting.

  • hahahahaa, holy shit look at Coan's face as he squats that 964, crazy determination and concentration.

  • none of them are fat, theres only one, and hes not the best one there

  • 5'9" 400 pounds thats a big man

  • these are fat and muscle i know if they take their clothes off ull see fat but under that fat is muscle

  • damn dangerous

  • 964 lbs takes more than just "fat"

  • really? well u can't say that the man at 0:59 is not fat cuz hes a ball-shape lol!!

  • may be fat, but still takes alot of strength

  • just ignore him (brasil...)he is not worth responding and paying attention !

  • they aren't fat. u r fat...

this competition is for HEAVY + weight and the competitors... they arent fat... they arent as defined as body builders... cuz their aim is not to have defined bodies but to lift weigt. and as Asocaciu said the weight they lift takes more than fat...

before making such conclusions, you better read more about powerlifting.

  • uh yes dude im fat.. u never saw me but still concludes im fat. jeez get a life and yes i dont give a shit about ''powerlifting'' or whatever that shitty sport is.. dont even kno if i can consider that as sport and those as athletes since their bodies are all fucked up and they'll probly die at the age of 45 - 50

  • my father is 54 he is 7 times world champion of powerlifting. He is still competing. His record in squat has never been beaten since 2000. And yes he is competing in this championship. AND HE IS STILL ALIVE!!!

YOU BETTER GET A LIVE YOURSELF!!!!!! you do not consider it sports, well you r stupid then !!!! and yes i never met you and i made this conclusion!

  • at 16 guys are usually a bit more intelligent than that! i feel sorry for you

  • Tony Saunders should have been disqualified for dumping the bar!

  • He was saving his life, why should he be disqualified?

  • Because he could have let the spotters know that they needed to take the bar. Other lifters have done it. Also, in some federations if a lifter dumps the bar, it's cause for disqualification.

  • Yea, but it was too late to wait for the spotters, he was almost in a paralel squat. Had he waited any second longer, the bar would've taken him down and possibly broken his neck, dislocated his hips, etc.

  • u have any other videos with him ?

  • Yea, 2...Check my profile.

  • they are also from Mountaineer Cup?

  • Yes

  • Vladimir Ivanenko

  • my father is the best.... he did it so perfectly amazing!!! im so proud

  • Who's your father?

  • Shouldn't that be "Who's your daddy?"
